I can't believe this really works.......

Hi

I was just banded in february in North Carolina. I jump though all the hoop and etc. like everyone else trying to get approved. When the day of the surgery came I was praying I made the right choose. Now almost a week or so later the hunger feeling is almost gone. My wife and I went to a restaurant to have dinner and my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I ordered a bowl of potatoe Soup instead of just a cup. Now mind you I am a 400 lbs man, excuse me was a 400 lbs man. I watered down my soup and couldn't finshed half of it before the full feeling hit me.

I can't believe this device called a lapband works as well as it does. I'm now a official believer that this will help aid me on my long journey to becoming a half the man I was (weigh wise ).

It sounds like you have good restriction already. Lucky you. I'm 4 months post-op and just got the fill that gave me some restriction. I could still eat a big bowl of Soup though.

Welcome to the crowd!!

Every day I am in disbelief that this tool actually works! And when that scale continues to go down (even though there are plateaus to be dealt with), I am just simply amazed!!

I swear I thought I didn't eat much more before banding (except when I sit back and really assess what I was eating) and the scale did nothing but gallop upward! I have no clue, but am so happy someone developed this to give us life again!!

Isn't it interesting how it takes our minds to catch up with our bodies? You still ordered the larger size Soup and I find myself doing that too. I'm afraid it 'won't be enough' to fill me up and I'll get hungry so I order way too much and can't eat half of it! I went to a wedding last night and they passed out the food and the plates looked pretty sparse and I thought "wow! small portions!" then proceeded to eat half of it while my teeny tiny daughter scarfed down every bit of it plus a roll! I loved it!

That is fantastic. I almost wanted to cry hearing your story. I remember when I could eat a big mac and everything else. Our stomachs can only hold a couple oz of Protein now. Isn't it fantastic! Thank you for sharing. I hope you lose all your excess weight and feel wonderful. Good for you! Congrats.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
