Holy Cow...

Recommended Posts

So now it is March. I am scheduled for the surgery on the 18th. Made my flight arrangements, ordered everything I need and am really starting to freak out!!! I am excited but so nervous.

Sadly, I have the "nasty habit" of smoking (quit for 8 year, got a nasty divorce and started again for almost 2 years) I have to quit on the 4th:ohmy:

Then 2 days later I start my pre-op diet, omg I am going to be such a witch. I'm not telling anyone but close family that I am doing this and am sure that everyone is going to want to murder me by the time I leave.

And while I am freaked out, I am so excited. I have been on the diet rollercoaster as long as I can remember. And I believe the last time I weighted under 200lbs is when I was 18.

How the heck are all of my fellow bandsters doing with their March dates, pre-op and nerves?

Amanda

Oh, girl, my nerves have been all over the place! This is the eve of my surgery and I'm sitting here on pins and needles. I need to try and get some sleep but I'm so anxious and scared that I don't know if I'll be able to.

The weeks building up to this point were a roller coaster of emotions for me. I kept wondering if this was what I really wanted...even AFTER having to endure a long wait to get approved by our insurance company.

My surgeon didn't require any pre-op diet, which actually made me MORE nervous. I did my best to be careful of what I ate, though.

Good luck on quitting smoking! My father smoked for over 50 years before he quit, so I know it'll be tough. I'm sure you can do it, especially since you already quit once for 8 years.

This has been a crazy ride but I am so glad to have others like you to share it with. I'm sure March 18th will be here before you know it.

I know thats gotta be super stressful.... Wanna know how I quit? I got the flu! I had the worst cough and I just absolutely couldn't smoke. By the time I got rid of the bug, it had been 2 weeks. So I just figured why not just quit... I wish you had more time and I'd say go sit in the doctor's office for a few hours...touch everything and maybe let someone cough in your face...LOL, just kidding, that's pretty gross...but you get what I'm saying. Good luck... I know you can do it!!!
