Vicki Loichinger 444 Posted March 10, 2005 Hi for those of you that have bought or been given one of these (magic bullet) is it worth it. I want one, and I think I am going to get one today but I really wanted to know how much someone uses it. I am kinda going from the mushy stage to the solid. But I can think that some meats would still be better chopped a bit before trying to chew them to death. Also when I get a fill, each time won't liquids and mushies for a couple of days be the norm. Also it could just come in handy for any meal prep. But before I buy yet another gadget (i am so the gadget queen) I really wanted to hear from some that have it. Is it better then a plain blender? Thanks so much Hugs and wishes to all for a wonderful Thursday. Vicki In Indy (cold Indy)
HarleyNana 10 Posted March 10, 2005 I posted a thread last week, I got one for Christmas from my workers. Just last Friday, I took it out of the box. Either me or my son has used it everyday. He drinks all this protein/whey stuff and it mixes it up in 10 sec. He's new house will be finished in a couple of weeks and he'll be moving back out:banana , and he said the other day he guessed he's have to get one for the new house, hinting it would make a good house warming gift. The cleanup is what impresses me the most. I add a drop of dish det, fill 1/2 full with Water, put the top on and let her spin for 10 sec, then rinse. And it's so small, it sits in the appliance closet on my counter with my coffee pot. Buy it at Walmart or Kmart, then if you don't like it, they'll take anything back there. Enjoy! I'm kicking my own butt for not opening it during the mushy stage.
BigT 0 Posted March 10, 2005 My mom bought me one too. It is a great appliance. I am using it to make my shakes and slushes right now and it works great. It mixes them fantastic and seems to make the shakes more enjoyable-less grity. The cleanup is a breeze. Truly a machine that works like it is advertised. It also makes great frozen fruit slushes--that is a great healthy treat anytime. For those, you just buy frozen fruit of your favorite variety-Sam's club has a few different kinds- and throw them in the bullet mug with complementary fruit juice and 15 seconds later you are enjoying a blissful frozen fruit shake. I am averaging using it everyday to every two days. On a scale of 1 to 10 this is a 9.8 . It would be a 10 if it cleaned itself up...lol. T
Iluvharleys 15 Posted March 10, 2005 On a scale of 1 to 10 this is a 9.8 . It would be a 10 if it cleaned itself up...lol. T Now you're talking! I wish my whole kitchen cleaned itself up. It's good to know it works good. Thanks for the information!
Mita 2 Posted March 10, 2005 That sounds exactly what I have been looking for. Is it expensive? Don't mean to Hyjack Vicki.. Wow Vicki you are doing great on your loss:)
BigT 0 Posted March 10, 2005 That sounds exactly what I have been looking for. Is it expensive? It is around $60. Walmart and ebay are some places that have it for a good price. Be sure you get the full set with a juicer and 4 mugs for that price. T
HarleyNana 10 Posted March 10, 2005 Mine only came with the mixer, 4 mugs and 2 containers. The juicer and pitcher are optional or they come with the $99.00 set. I've seen them on sale at Walgreens for $49.
BigT 0 Posted March 10, 2005 Here are some ebay links for them with the pitcher and juicer for less then the $99. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3202&item=4363132249&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=20680&item=4363676134&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4363989772&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr4_PcN__Stores This last one is $69.99 for the kit including the optional pitcher and juicer. I have found ebay to be a great place to buy stuff cheaper--just be sure you buy from someone with a 99% or better rating. T
dylansmom 27 Posted March 10, 2005 Great info for ebay shopping T. I agree. I was just on there about 3 days ago looking at one for myself actually. Definately buy from someone who has a 99% or better feedback rating, and also please please please check the shipping price before you bid. They can be so sneaky about charging a sky high shipping price on there, and if you don't pay attention and bid before realizing that, then they've gotten you. (Because Ebay seriously frowns/doesn't usually allow bid retractions.) Also try to pay attention to the methods of payment they accept too. Some only accept PayPal, and others accept checks and money orders too. (If they do accept PayPal, make sure to understand which forms of PayPal they accept as well. There's a regular PayPal, and a credit card PayPal. Most sellers are pretty upfront about which one/ones they accept.) Hope this helps new ebayers. ~Kel
Mita 2 Posted March 11, 2005 Thanks Kelly & T I will be checking that out on Ebay. Your Right Kelly they sure do get you with the shipping I have had that happen to me before..
HarleyNana 10 Posted March 11, 2005 By the time you pay all that shipping and handling you can usually buy it close to home and you know who you're dealing with, plus if it's a problem with it, it's right around the corner, JMO. Which ever route you take, you'll enjoy the magic bullet I'm sure.
Caren 0 Posted March 11, 2005 LOVE my magic bullet!!!!!!!!!!!! I use mine in the am and in the pm...would like to have one for work. I put a couple of cans of tuna through it tonight and it grated it sooo fine. Then I bought some Soups from the chinese restaurant, pureed them and they were wonderful. Just threw a couple of frozen bananas and a spoon of Peanut Butter into a chocolate Protein shake...6 seconds then YUM!!
dylansmom 27 Posted March 11, 2005 I looked online at Walmart, Kmart, and Target's websites and didn't see this on any of them. There is a Walgreens being built right around the corner from here, but it probably won't open until the spring at soonest. Does anyone know FOR SURE where these can be purchased other than Ebay? I've also checked on QVC's web site too and found nothing there as well. Any help would be so very appreciated! Thanks a Bunch! ~Kelly
