Okay Leslie, I'm really mad at you!!! Here I thought you were my friend and now this! You just had to mention what a great place Kohl's is didn't you? I think I've only been in there one time because there hasn't been one very close to me, well today I see one and decide to stop in. OMG! It's my new fav!! I can't believe I haven't been in there before now. I see a new addiction forming! So, I think it's only fair to warn you that when my husband is upset because I'm spending so much time and money in there, I'm blaming you girlfriend!! LOL! :tt2:

I think he will be thanking me. He will be so proud of how great you look. Not to mention more bedroom time (they have a great lingerie section). I may become his new best friend. On top of that - they have great sales - see you are saving money! Beautiful, Savvy and Brilliant - you are a woman to be reckoned with. You just thought you were mad at me. Behind every great woman is a great lap-band friend that has an addiction to clothes and shoes.

It is so addictive! I LOVE THEIR SHOES...ah Kohls! I haven't been in this week - what is wrong with me? LOL

I must've missed the Kohl's statement cuz I'm comin' in late on this one! I Love, love love Kohl's too! They Rock! They have fantastic prices and yes, Leslie, the shoes are wonderful. I heart shoes. They fit even when you're fat, your hair looks bad or you've got a zit. Shoes love you unconditionally. ***sigh***

Okay, I'm done.

Oh Kohl's is the best! It is my go to place whenever I need something to wear!!! Also, shopping there at Christmas is the best! They've got the best prices and then their discount sales rock!

I agree...shoes, shoes, shoes - a woman's best friend nest to diamonds. I have to buy new ones because my feet have actually shrank!!! But who needs an excuse for shoes? Too many times I get shoes and then the outfit to go with them!

Just checking in.. I don't do it enough on this thread.. Always running around to all the general threads lol

Anyway about 7 weeks ago I went and got my second fill going up to 2.1/4.0 cc band. I found my sweet spot for about 4 weeks. Then all the sudeen BAM I could eat everything and anything again. I sat on the last fill till today making sure I watched what I ate. I managed to maintain my loss so that was good. I told the doc to fill me up again.. LOL Like I was at the gas station.

He checked and out of the 2.1 CC I only had 1.75 CC left in the band. It's a real phenomenon where the heck liquid goes out of a band jeez.... So he did just that and filled me up! He put me at 2.25 cc's. I am hoping this is where it needs to be again and I can go back to my 2-3 pound a week loss.

We talked about where in the world that the saline could go and like most of the other doctors since I don't have any problems not to worry about it and that it's common to lose some of the fill once in a while.

I was 267 @ surgery on 4/23 down to 221 today so lost 46 pounds. I can really feel the difference

Brandy - funny you say that because I have been SOOO full for the past few weeks but today and yesterday, I could tell I could eat more. Hope its just a phase. Otherwise, might have to head in for another fill next week!

Sounds like what I was thinking. I was so worried that it was a phase that I did wait 3 weeks. Nothing could be worse than being too tight I bet. My band comes and goes sometimes with menstrual and stress etc.... So I would be worried about going in too soon.

Good luck!

Oh, you are good!! I didn't think about that way. You are absolutely right. And besides that I deserve it, right? LOL!

Seriously, I'm totally in love with Kohl's. Another 15-20 pounds off and I will so be rockin' that store!!

Hey Brandy! Glad you popped in. I'm so ready for a fill. I go in a week. I had to have 1/4 cc removed a few weeks back because I was sick, don't have much restriction right now. It's amazing what a difference 1/4 cc made.

Have a great evening ya'll!!

Good morning Avengers!

Congrats on the weight loss Leslie. I'm so proud of you! You look so awesome!

I've finally discovered Greek yogurt last night and it was delicious. It was so thick and creamy. It was more the texture that I enjoyed more than the taste. Although I remember all yogurt used to taste like that when I was a kid. It was Oikos F/F plain Greek Yogurt. Nut value: 90 cal, 0 fat, 6 g total carb, 15 g Protein. Wal-Mart Brand plain f/f yogurt nut value (same 1/2 c): 65 cal, 0 fat, 10 g total carbs, 5.5 g protein. Big difference in protein. I know Greek yogurt isn't new, just thought it was interesting.

Also, yesterday my weight training instructor said something interesting. Of course I've always known the longer you excercise the more weight you can loose, duh. But the way he said it struck me. He said that you burn sugar for the first 10-15 minutes of any exercise, then you start burning fat. So if you do 30 minutes, you're getting 15-20 min of fat burn. If you do 45 min, you're getting 30 min of fat burn. An hour, 45 minutes of fat burn. So today I'll be upping my cardio workout. I know I won't be able to run the whole time, but brisk walking is just as good.

I'm so sore today I could hardly get out of bed. We had to do push ups, sit ups, etc yesterday to see how many we could do in a minute. We'll do it again several times during the course of the semester to see if we're improving. YIKES! We also had to do a 12 minute walk/run around the gym to see how many laps we could do. I'm proud to say I did 16 which was approx a mile. Not a great time, but I did more laps than several of the "kids". Nanny-nanny boo boo! Okay, not nice I know, but 3 months ago I wouldn't have been able to run at all much less do 16 laps!

Anyway, have a great day!!

Way to go Bea! 16 laps is major! I would have been good to do two!

Thanks too for the tip on working out. It definitely gives me reason to keep going over that 45 minute mark that I so badly want to stop at each day. Keep the good tips coming. I can sure use them!

I recently found Greek Yogurt too after reading about it in a weight lifting magazine. I wished I'd known about it sooner! Try it blended with some berries then frozen...it makes the best yogurt pops! Plus, the vanilla kind mixes really well with chocolate Syrup for chocolate pops. It helps me kick the sweet cravings and fill up at the same time!

Yum, I bet that is good frozen. I had mine with blueberries last night and a sprinkle of granola. I too have been trying to kick the sweets habit at night, so I've been trying to eat yogurt and fruit. Although the key lime pie that my husband bought  started calling me last night. I cut a small piece, had one bite and came to my senses! I gave it to my hubby. I was happy with just the taste and honestly that's really all I wanted, I think I cut a piece out of habit more than anything. It's empowering to be able to stop. Anyway, thanks for the tip! Have a great weekend!

Yeah, I know what you guys are talking about. During the day I am good and disciplined, but at night the sweets call my name. I think I will try getting some yogurt, fruit and granola to satisfy that sweet tooth I get.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The scales are finally moving again! I had my fill Tuesday and am down 2 pounds as of today! I'm still able to eat the same foods as before but can tell a big difference in the amount and how full I'm staying.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
