Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi girls,

I'm sorry I haven't been on. I've been working 12 hour shifts and was in school for 12 hours yesterday. Ugh. Plus, the site was weird for a few days and I couldn't get on.

I'm not feeling very well. My DD has strep, and now I have a sore throat, the sweats and the general blahs. My doc ordered a throat culture for me too today, so we'll see if I have it. I hope not, I hate being sick. I'm a better nurse than patient! LOL

I've lost a few more pounds and I am psyched! I am getting so close to my mini goal of getting to Onderland. I didn't eat much today, but I have been keeping up on the logging. I need to get to the gym, but have been so darn busy and feeling yucky I haven't been able to.

Sorry Leslie that you don't feel well.

Bea, Mom, Brandy, NeNe....HI!!!!! I love seeing everyone here. I miss you guys!

Hey...do they slimming garments for big, humongous hip and saddlebags? I don't have a muffin top, I'm all curves and what I call "hills and valleys"! LOL

Hi everyone! I'm finally out of the sicky house. It was so nice to come back to work today - I can't believe I'm saying that!!!

How's everyone else doing? I'm back to logging my food and back on track today. I'm still really tired - my body is so sore. I'm calling my doctor today to schedule a fill.

Carol~ Congrats on the loss! I hope it continues :) Don't beat yourself up about the gym look at your schedule that itself is amazing! They do have the slimming shorts that you can wear. I don't really think they are very comfortable but you could give them a try everyones different. They are only 16 at Walmart too.

Leslie~ Glad to see you're feeling a little better. Keep pushing those liquids since you were so sick... Uggh I hate being sick. Good luck with your fill I know you were concerned about being too tight at TOM. Mine seems to be doing ok even though I thought it was going to be too tight in the beginning. I can eat about 1/3 of a cup at a time or a little more if I take more than the alloted 30 minutes to eat.

I'm scheduled for Tuesday - they had a cancelation and was able to get me in. I had TOM this past week and I wasn't too tight...so I think just a wee bit will help me. I gained 2 pounds - but I'm NOT adjusting my totals! (stubborn me)

Leslie I am with you on the not adjusting your totals because for the last few days I was 2 pounds up too. But theres too many things that come into play when it comes to weight that I leave mine alone too. If I dip lower I change it. If I am higher for a couple weeks then I might consider it lol.

I bounce between 211-213 daily.

L2l - glad things are getting back to normal and they're able to fit you in for the fill.

I will be having one again soon. Back to no restriction:( This is so aggrevating!

Did so good yesterday and posted foods but today is close to TOM so I started the day good then gorged this afternoon. So I am paying for it now. I feel like I've eaten a watermelon. Needless to say, I will be forgoing dinner tonight. But tomorrow is another day.

My kids are so siked about trick or treating. I told them that they can stay up and eat their candy too (getting it out of the house as soon as possible!) Anyone got any big plans for tomorrow?

Hey Leslie! Glad you are feeling better. Take it easy for the next couple of days so you make sure to recover fully.

Turler - sorry you are not feeling well and having to work so much. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Mom - Yes, my kids are excited too. We have a carnival at church and will be going to that. They are doing a hayride and everything this year. It should be a lot of fun.

Oh my gosh you guys, I was so bad today. I went up to church this afternoon to help set up stuff and my dear friend put me in charge of separating the candy. What was she thinking?!? Well, I ate three mini candy bars before I even thought too much about it. I was hungry and it was there and it was the good stuff. I felt sick afterward. I was a good girl though because I logged it. We didn't work out today in class so I've got to try to get in a run this evening. I'm not feeling well either. I just feel really achy all over and I have a headache. I hope I'm not getting sick too. I really don't have time for that nonsense!

Hope everyone else has a "spooky" day tomorrow! Have fun!

We carved the pumpkins tonight! The kids picked out their pattern and I drew it on...DH gutted it and I carved it. They are so excited about tomorrow - almost more than Christmas. I'm glad it's on a Friday this year!

Hi everyone!

Oh TGIF!!!!!! I am so glad to be off today. This week was tough. I can't believe how much homework I have. This term is going to suck. Plus I can't really address my homework until my days off because it's so involved.

I have had a weird eating week. I didn't eat much the other day, didn't feel well so I made a smoothie. I don't know if my calculations are right on TDP, but wow! Good thing I didn't eat any food! Yesterday I haven't even logged yet, but I didn't do well. Was uncomfortable most of the day. I think it was the chicken I had for lunch. Then the popcorn last night did me in.

I haven't exercised, so I gotta hit it hard today and all weekend. I hope to do better next week. Maybe once I feel 100% again and getting back into the routine of school. I only had a week off for heaven's sake!

Leslie---Did you run this morning?

Hey guys! Hope you are having a wonderful Halloween Friday!

I have an NSV and wanted to share. I had a great run today and I finished my 5K in 38:30. I've improved by about 6 1/2 minutes in 6 weeks. Not bad! I know I could do a lot better because I made that time doing my jog/sprint routine. If only I would push myself everyday to do better! Anyway, I'm happy with it for now!

I'm going to shower and go find a face painting kit for myself for tonight. I'm feeling flashy today, so I think I'll go with something glittery!

Have fun everyone and be safe!!!

Happy Halloween everyone and I wish you all great willpower to keep away from the candy bowls tonight. I know I will need it lol

I am sooooooo looking forward to November and December  I am in concert bliss! I have Metallica tomorrow, Nov 7th Danzig, November 20th Cheech and Chong, December 7th NIN!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
