Hey guys! I hope everyone has had a great weekend. Leslie, did the weather hold for you? I hope Gustav hasn't caused to much havoc with any of you guys.

The other day we were talking about Greek yogurt and I've been playing around with it a little. I get the plain Greek yogurt so I can control what goes into it and the other night I really wanted something sweet. I took a Tablespoon of sugar-free, fat-free pudding mix (I had white chocolate) and mixed it into the yogurt with a little Splenda, then I added blueberries and a little granola. It was so good! It was the exact consistency of cheesecake. The sky's the limit when playing with flavors. Just thought I'd share with you guys.

Have a great week!!

Hello friends! :tt2:

I'm still alive, I promise. It's just been a hectic few days. I've been working a lot, I met someone new, I had a run-in with the other guy last night...just...craziness. Sometimes I wish I could forget the last few months and concentrate on me, you know? But my crazy girl brain doesn't let me do that.

I do have to say - last night, other guy said, "Did you weigh yourself last week? You look like you've lost more weight." HOORAY!

But then - new boy? Told me about twenty times that I'm beautiful and that I've "got this great body"....well, let me tell you, that's the best lie I've ever heard! :(

This week will be crazy too - I started classes last week and I am in school Monday-Friday mornings, then I'm working a 12 hour night shift tonight, 7p-11p on Wednesday and Thursday nights, off Friday, then three more 12 hour shifts in a row on Saturday/Sunday/Monday night. Busy, busy, busy.

Plus...I kind of fell off the wagon this week with all my stress - thankfully, I didn't gain any real weight - just a LOT of Water weight, so I'm really pushing the water for the next few days. (I can't even get my ring off and usually it's quite loose. I must have 3-4 lbs of water on me!)

Alright...I need to go shower and get ready for class. Blah. Hope everyone is having a great day and Leslie, I hope you didn't get blown away by Gustav!

Bea - I'm going to check out that Greek yogurt - what kind of container does it come in?

Hi everyone! We got back from the beach unscathed. We did cut the trip short and came on on Sunday rather than yesterday. While at the beach we were under Tropical Storm Warnings and decided not to chance the roads flooding.

We had a blast at the Water Park! I ran to the top of one of the towers! I wasn't tired - at all and was able to fit into everything I wanted to fit into. I haven't had so much fun in years!!!! I even turned a couple of heads...LOL....they were old men - but damn they still turned! hehehehe

Bea - I saw the greek yogurt at the grocery store last night. I almost bought it, but I was being frugal (we spent WAY too much money - a lot unexpectantly) this weekend. I'm going to get some when we get paid this week. That sounds really good!

Nurse - The great thing about falling off the wagon - it is now so much easier to get back on!

I broke down and got some of the greek yogurt at Walmart the other day. Today I tried it for the first time..... Yumm!

I used 1/4 cup yogurt, 2 tbl of kashi very berry granola, 1 strawberry diced up, 1 tsp honey.

I think that you could flavor it to meet any taste... even could use the SF flavored syrups or pudding like Bea did.

I can really tell this new fill is helping. I finally for the first time cannot GULP Water. I had restriction before but could still gulp... Now I have to sip and chew to goo. I can't wait to see if the scales moving :tt2:

Hey guys. Just checking in. Glad to see that everyone had a good weekend.

L2L - glad the storm didn't put too big a damper on your trip! Now we've just got to keep and eye on Hanna....what are you guys being told so far about that situation?

Nurse - glad to hear things are going good! Keep up the good work. Falling off the wagon makes you want to push to get back on and I know you will!!!

Bea - thanks for the tip with the yogurt! I looked for the yogurt at Walmart today but they don't have it. They do have the sugar free Jello singles that would work great in it though. I'm going to Publix tomorrow to get my yogurt so I can try it...I can't wait!

My "kid free" outing with my hubby was wonderful! I had been able to find a cute teddy that he really liked. We wnet shopping and I was able to fit into a size 14 skirt! Plus, into large tops! I haven't been there in almost 13 years! I couldn't believe it! We then celebrated with a dinner out at a nice restaurant but luckily they worked with my eating and fixed me a wonderful meal of thinly sliced duck breast and creamed summer squash...it was SOOOOOO good. But then was a little bad when we finished the meal splitting a creme brulee' and cappucino but I came home still losing a pound. I guess it was from all the walking and extra curricular activities!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Mom - I'm glad ya'll had a great time! Those extracurricular activities do burn the fat - LOL...plus it's fun.

Right now it looks like Hannah will be hitting Savannah. Time will tell. I'm ready for hurricane season to be over! It seems like the last few weekends have been raining, storming and/or tornadoes around. Looks like Ike and Josephine are right behind Hannah. Sigh.

I can squeeze in - but it isn't pretty! LOL - the 16's are actually attractive. I have one pair of 14 capris (my mom gave me) I'd sleep in if I could. Only because they are a 14...LOL

Hi everybody!!! I've been so darn busy starting school and work and all the activities that go with your kids going back to school! I love it, but it's tiring.

I'm doing well. I've had a pretty big weight loss this week! Like 3+ pounds! I never have weeks like that, so for me it's amazing! I don't know why it's different. I don't think I've changed anything, but I'm going with it. I'm almost into the 'teens'! WOO HOO! Oh, hey that could mean two things...scale and clothing! Oh that's awesome. Haha, I just cracked myself up! I am so close to dropping another size....I really need to buy some new pants, but the 18's are tight, and the 20's are too loose. Ugh. I'm also close to being in the 'teens' on the scale!

I feel squishy. Anyone else?

~Carol

Congrats Colorado! I was wearing womens and now can fit in a 16 regular oh man what a good feeling..

46 pounds lost but I have been kinda stuck the last week since my last fill. Strange though because it feels like the perfect restriction. I have that TOM in 2 days so that might have something to do with it. I will just stick it out and hope for the best

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
