March Exercise Challenge

Recommended Posts

Great job everyone :puke:!

I was looking through the book store for books on Triathlons and ran across this in the exersise section.

I think this is a book no woman should be with out.

Daddy, thanks for the book recommendation. Well, I certainly do support a multi-cultural approach to exercise, so I'll give this new Polish dancing a whirl.

Do we get to eat Pierogi while we dance? (Yum!)

But then again will the Pierogi (being that it's very doughy) get stuck and cause us to "P'B"?

As you can see, I am a woman who always has many questions before I try anything new..............

:):smile::)

Okay, that book is TOO funny! I love that it was right next to Bikini Bootcamp too! :-)

I can only claim belly dancing - is that close enough?

They give this class at Spa 23 in Pompton Plains, NJ!!!!!!! They told me it was the best exercise I will ever get! Hubby offered to pay but I declined.:redface:

I just looked this up - polka burns 296 cals an hour for a person weighing 146 lbs. Not bad!!

Sadly, I haven't found any polka radio here in the Twin Cities, MN. Not enough dairy cows to listen to it, I guess (cows give more milk when you play polka - seriously!).

Come to think of it, I don't have any polka on the ipod - must get that taken care of quick!

DirecTV has a channel (RFD-TV) that on Friday and Saturday nights around 6pm broadcasts the "Big Joe Polka Show".

Hubby is from midwest German stock, says it sounds like every church supper he ever went to...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
