I am the type of person since my GB removal gets nauseated very easily. I asked my surgeon if there was any higher incidence of nauseau with the band. He stated no, but I was wondering if any of you experienced bandsters agree or not. Do you get sick to your stomach alot or easier since being banded. Thanks I love this site!!:w00t:

I have big issues with nausea with motion, pain meds, and anesthesia. I haven't had any nausea since the day after my surgery, except once when I got food stuck. If you have issues with nausea make sure you let your surgeon know to give you extra meds pre and post surgery for the nausea. You might want to get a prescription to have around the house too. I have a script for something like pfenergren that I can take if I have a problem. I only had to take it once after I got stuck (two weeks into eating mushies - tuna :w00t:).

Hope all goes well for you.

Sue

Had Gallbladder removed many years ago.

I do get nausea from pain meds ( for some reason when the pain meds are injected rather than swallowed, the nausea isn't there) I did ask for anti nausea meds in the hospital BEFORE getting pain meds just in case.

I have no nausea problems since being banded.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
