I have been unable to find foods I can eat for Breakfast. I used to eat eggs with soy sausage or soy bacon, but eggs are causing a major problem. What are you eatting for breakfast?

Right now, I am pretty tight in the mornings. So, I am drinking fat free milk with carnation instant breakfast. I love the chocolate malt flavor and it keeps me full until lunch time.

I thought we are suppose to avoid a liquid diet, I can drink a Slim Fast for breakfast, but I am thinking that is not what I should be doing.

I am not on a liquid diet at all. However, many bandsters find they are simply too tight in the morning to get any food down. So, we have Protein Shakes or something similiar for breakfast. By lunch time, I am able to start on food.

I am tight in the morning, and have never been a breakfast eater. I have an Atkins shake in the morning because it goes down and I can have it on the run. The rest of the day is food

Sometimes I eat instant oatmeal, or cottage cheese with fruit, or Protein Drink with a banana in it.

I'm having the same problems. It's so hard to eat in the morning I think I will just skip breakfast. I tried the Protein drinks. I really didn't like it!!

I was never a breakfast eater

I usually have a protien drink with a few frozen berries (no sugar added from trader joe's)

I do eat a late breakfast on the week-ends,

eggs, oatmeal, cream of wheat whatever strikes my fancy

I usually have a packet of Weight Control oatmeal (the cinamon flavoured one is really good) or yogurt for breakfast.

I am super tight in the AM, but also pretty hungry. The 2 breakfasts that work for me are"

1 - Carnation Instant Breakfast (made w/ skim milk)

2 - Greek non fat yogurt, with a mashed banana, sweetened with a little honey (sometimes I can add a little crushed, high Protein, flax Cereal for crunch)

Of course, you could always do a Protein shake, but I think I "overdosed" on them in my immediate post-op days.

I just got a fill so I am pretty tight right now-but when I am a little looser or later in the day I have a Vitatop muffin top with a tablespoon of natural Peanut Butter. This is a delicious nutritious combo with high Protein and Fiber and the great taste of chocolate and peanutbutter

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
