I had my 2nd fill on Tues of this week I can't feel much restriction. My docter said it should last about three week. I feel like I can eat every few hours.

Has anybody ever felt this way. Thanks for your input.

It did sort of hurt. My docter numbed my side then put the needle in the port and made me drink Water until I felt tightness. That part didn't hurt but after I was sore on my side for a few days.

I totally feel you here!! I had my second fill on the 18th of this month and cannot tell at all. The problem is is that I live 4 hours away from my dr so I cannot even go back for about another month. OH well, I am frustrated because I have not lost any weight since I went there. I am working out harder and eating fairly well for me and nada. Not a pound. So I guess I will just wait it out until I can get filled. Good luck!

I feel like I hit a wall over the past week or two my weight loss has really slowed down. My doc is 40 miles away. I have a full time job so it is hard to just stop by the docs office for problems like ours. hang in there

It is very frustrating for the first few months after surgery when you don't have restriction. I hate to say this because it is easy to say and hard to do, but you just have to be patient! I know you want restriction, that's why you had surgery after all! But it just doesn't work that way with the band. I was seriously going nuts because I didn't have any restriction whatsoever after fills 1,2,3,and 4! I felt like a huge failure. I felt like I had wasted so much money (I'm self pay) and just "knew" the band was not going to work for me. Finally I had my 5th fill and there it was, hallelujia! RESTRICTION!!! Yeah!!! And I can honestly say that I am thankful that it was slow getting there because it gave me time to adjust mentally and physically each new step of the way. Hang in there guys! It will happen and it is awesome.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
