Waiting for sex...

Recommended Posts

I haven't been banded yet but wanted to drop my congrats to you - my bf of 4 yrs wouldn't and hasn't touched me since as I hit 190, a 30 pound gain from when I met him (5'6, current 270), so I am happy for you that you have someone undetered by your struggle.

It makes me feel sad that you are with someone so selfish and superficial.

I know, it made me want to cry.

As soon as you want to, which will probably be a few days and you'll have to be a bit creative as the 'traditional' way of sex is pretty uncomfortable for a while because of the port sight being so tender. Trying to be delicate...but you get my drift. If it isn't hurting you do it.

I guess about 10 days. My abdominal region was just so sore until then. My only advise is to tell your partner to watch out for the port site. It is still pretty sensitive to any kind of pressure.

Hi. I would say when your body feels up to it you'll know. If you partner is understanding you should be ok. Tell him the longer you have to heel the better it will be when you do get to have some fun. Also there are "fun" things you can do that might satisfy him (and you) before your completely healed.

Good luck

I'm laughing because I'm like woohoo!! I wonder if I can tell him 6 weeks like when we had our daughter?!?

That made me giggle!!

I waited 2 wks, and that's because of my husband :huggie: We were banded the same day and he had a LONGER recovery time than I did. He was a bit of a baby :w00t:.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
