i use the viactiv chews...they come in all types of flavors (chocolate, carmel, strawberry, etc) three times a day... I chew them to mush and swallow.... they don't bother me (banded 2/26) and i realy like the carmel ones...you can't tell they have Calcium in them at all...taste like candy.. but the consistency might bother some? i sure wouldn't want to get it stuck- like I said chew chew chew or suck them until their gone...

I haven't started taking one yet - I'm doing the Viactiv for multi-vitamens, but here's my question...

I think I am LIVING on cottage cheese, yogurt, tuna, spinach, and eggs. I feel like I'm on a Calcium overdose! Anyone able to share why we're supposed to supplement calcium?

I got some Calcium lozenges from Bariatric Advantage. They are cinnamon flavored and taste good but the texture takes some getting used to. They are calcium citrate with Vitamin D (the only kind my doctor allows) I also got some calcium powder called UPCalD that mixes in great with Protein Shakes and scrambled eggs. No taste, not residue, etc. I got both of them from this website. Vitalady.com - Protein supplements, Vitamins & Minerals, and Safe Snacks! That is where I get my chewable vitamins too. The texture bothered me at first but I have kind of gotten used to it.

I was watching Oprah yesterday with Dr Oz. Someone asked about Calcium supplements and what kind we should take. Dr Oz says a Calcium with Magnesium in it is better than one without (Mag helps with constipation). So if you suffer from Constipation read your calcium supplement carefully if no magnesium that could be the cause.

When I was at Rite aid today, I read Viactiv-NO MAGNESIUM so I bought Caltrate chewables.< /p>

Good luck everyone

You should also have Vitamin D with your Calcium because it helps it absorb better.
