Exercise Challenge!!!

Hello Fellow Victorious Valentines!!!!

Since we are recently banded I just wanted to do an exercise challenge to get our journey going.

It is a walking challenge. (since that's all we can do for now)

This is an individual challenge.....

If you dare....committ yourself....to exercise certain # of minutes per day.

I'm in, I have been putting it off (banded 1 week ago today) but I have GOT to get up and start moving. I am starting off small, if I feel like going longer I will but this is my min.

To make each of us accountable to reach our goals...we should post everyday...

Even if you did not accomplish or do your exercise we should still post it..

Wow . . . I love this, and I definitely need in on it! I only did 15 minutes of walking on my treadmill today and was tired. I admire some of you doing 30! Think I'll stick with 15 for this week, and see how I do! So otta shape here :w00t:

I'm lucky. My doc gave me full clearance for all exercise except for VERY heavy lifting. I started back at my strength training class and did a good jog/walk. Now I just have to do it at least 4 times a week!! So, I'm all in!!

Hi guys, I am two weeks out (on Tuesday). I have a Dr's appt Monday and hope he will give me clearance to start exercising. We were told not to do anything other than very light not exercise type walking after surgery. I will join in as soon as I know what I can do. I'm hoping for at least 15 minutes so that is what I will put for now.

Also, I just read somewhere that if you walk, then once a week, you should try to do a powerwalk so that your body doesn't get used to the same thing. I can't wait until it warms up. I hate walking in the snow!!

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

      Woohoo! I have 7 more days till surgery, So far I am already down a total of 20lbs since I started this journey.
