Girls- Any tips on bras? Mine rub on one of my sites....

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a trick to keep their bra from rubbing on their incision sites, especially while sitting? I have not been able to wear a bra for more than like a half hour since my surgery and that means I can't really go outside.... so I've been walking laps in the house. Also, I need to figure this out by Monday or I won't be able to go back to work, although I feel well enough to.....

Help!!!:rolleyes2:

I've been wearing a sports bra - pushed up away from my incision sites. I was also wondering what I will do Monday when I return to work, because the sports bra makes me look like I have a unibreast. I was banded Saturday 02/23. Good luck!

I did the sports bra as well. I just wore bigger shirts so the "unibreast" look wasn't quite so obvious.

try a sports bra or a no-wire bra. I ran into that problem a lot what really worked for me where those cami's you can get that have the built in bras.. I got 2 at Walmart. they fit comfortable not to mention it keeps my clothes from rubbing all my other incisions.

well that's what worked for me.. hope it helps..

HUGZ!

I took the underwire out of my bra and thought that would work - NOPE so I scampered into Lane Bryant told them my problem, they measured, and then added 4" to the width (so it wouldn't be tight) and went DOWN a cup size - it was perfect. It is one of those with a wide band at the bottom. It is only going to fit me for a couple of weeks, it is already getting looser. But man oh man has it been worth it. Before, I walked around holding my boobs to keep them from rubbing my incisions.

Sorry for the mental picture there.

:Banane20:Sister, I hear you!!!! 5000 + years of civilization, and we still haven't invented a comfortable bra! Even before banding, my bras would rub raw spots on my chest. And the placement of the incisions made wearing a bra shear torture.

My solution? LAYERS! And lots of them. And don't even try to wear a %$&! bra!!!!! Try a camisole under a T-shirt under a vest. And then wear a hoodie as a jacket. I have been going to work braless (42 G) for the last 2.5 months. I realize this won't work during the summer, but I hope I will have lost enough weight to get into a 40 DDD. (And next year, I am going to see a surgeon about a lift and reduction) :tt2:

I found the best bras to wear! They are called Lounge Bras by Rhonda Shear. They have no wires or hooks, and come in tons of colors. They are reasonably priced as well. I found them 2 years ago, and wear them almost everyday. They have come in especially handy since my surgery. You can find them by googling "Rhona Shear" or you can get them from hsn.com. They start at XS and go all the way up to 3XL. You will never want to wear a regular bra again. Just check the size chart. The material is very forgiving, so it is good to wear while you are dropping the pounds.

Thanks, Citygirl, I'm going to check into that and order me up some b/4 my surgery.

I had breast reduction a few years back and had a miserable time getting my bra to not press on my incisions. Right after surgery I started slipping s soft minipad under each breast and that seemed to soften things and make it bearable. 4 years later I still have some pain but mostly itching along the scars and still can't wear anything but a stretchy sports bra. Not banded yet, I am trying to find a payment source. My insurance where I work won't pay it. Good luck, try the minipad...no one can tell and it makes a soft cushion.

Thanks for the additional info....those mini pads are quite versatile, aren't they? My son was in Iraq for a year. His job was gunner, sitting (duck) on top of the Humvee. He used mini pads inside his helmet to soak up the sweat in the extreme heat. I never thought to use them in my bra...will give it a try.

I use a sports sock and tuck it lenghtwise under the girls. It works like a charm and the cotton soaks up all the annoying extra perspiration. Hope this helps.

I found that going down a cup size and taking my bra off the minute I got home at the end of the day helped.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
