walked 40 minutes today, 20 crunches.

Man, crunches sure don't feal right! It feels like there's soemthing in my tummy. Oh wait! There IS something in my tummy! ah ha ha ha ha. Anyway, it looks like I'm going to have to go slow and build up my crunches back to pre-op slower than I had expected.

WOOT! I just did 100 crunches! Okay, the very best song for doing crunches is DEVO "We're through being cool" from their Whip it Album

Today after leaving the library I will walk from 56th street to 33 street constituting a 20 block walk...that should be about a half and hour good walk. Can't do crunches yet because my tummy is still in newbie mode.

My sole exercise is walking the dog. This works for me because (1) the dog has to go anyway; (2) it's something I do everyday; (3) no special equipment or gym memberships needed; (4) it's easy to build up speed and distance; (5) the dog likes it; (6) I like it too. The dog would be losing weight if I weren't giving her my leftovers!

okay, walked and walked and walked since my last post

Horseback riding again, didn't fall off, or anything. I did get a little freaked out when one of the horses I was riding was starting to freak out because one of the mares was in heat... Yikes!

Of course, when I dismounting one of the horses, my bra got caught on the pommel an I was stuck! I'm standing on the tippy toes of my new cowboy boots because the horse is tall, I am not, and I'm trapped by my bra!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
