lafsalot 0 Posted February 26, 2009 Was getting discouraged again and then WHAM!!! Three, I said three, NSV's right in a row. #1 a former student didn't recognize me while pumping gas on Monday. #2 My 4 year old was playing in my hair and said: "Mommy, your back hump is missing" #3 I had to take off all of my rings, or secure them with smaller, ones because I lost my wedding set in the laundry on Sunday. I was also able to put on my highschool graduation ring. So funny - I was more excited that it slipped off than I was worried that I'd lost it. (I was pretty sure where it was... If I hadn't found it as soon as I noticed it missing this might have been a whole different story) I also went to the October lapband thread and checked out their weight loss since I didn't have any restriction until October 6th. It looks like I'm a little ahead of most of them. So here I am feeling good about myself, and wondering where I will let this take me... hhhmmmm.... I know - I'm on my way to collar bones!!:tt2:

Fenton 3 Posted February 27, 2009 It's been quiet in here... Nice to see Annie Dub! Glad to hear that everyone is doing well, and feeling their bones. I've been off in a bit of a fugue state - I did OK at first in Colorado, then kind of went off the wagon, and have been off for about 10 days. But I've been exercising, and pretty hard too, a good 500 cals a day worth on the treadmill, plus fairly punishing workouts with my trainer twice a week. I'll weigh in Monday - it'll be interesting to see how I did.
SpecialK 22 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) To A Beautiful Woman Now I lay me Down to sleep I pray the Lord My shape to keep. Please no wrinkles Please no bags And please lift my butt Before it sags. Please no age spots Please no gray And as for my belly, Please take it away. Please keep me healthy Please keep me young, ! And thank you Dear Lord For all that you've done. Did you know that it's Beautiful Women Month? Well, it is and that means you ! Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her 'beauty tips.' It was read at her funeral years later. For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others. If you share this with another woman, you will boost another woman's self esteem, and she will know that you care about her. nycm00 0 Posted March 2, 2009 Hi guys. Sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks. I had my endoscopy. The only thing the Doctor found was that my pouch is small. He has me doubling my medication for a month and then if there is no change, I should have my band loosened more. This really made me very upset. I am now thinking about seeing a behaviour modification therapist, I am just bummed. Anyway, have not lost any more, but have not gained. I'll go back to the GI doc the end of March. I was thinking about doing a liquid fast (like the 2 weeks pre-op) for a few weeks to jump start the wieght loss and really get me motivated. I really wanted to be in onederland by my bandiversary. Glad to hear everyone doing so well. Christine
hopeinapril 1 Posted March 2, 2009 Howdy Shamrocks! Long time, no post. I tried to post Friday, but I guess the site was packed because all it did was "clock". Well, I'm back on track and very close to what my weight says it is on my tickler. Bad behavior kept me away from the board. I was away for so long I had a message at the top of the screen telling me I hadn't posted for a while! Too funny. I will post in the Friday board this week. I hope I get back to my tickler weight! Well, I got some exercise in today. Nothing like shoveling snow! Actually, it wasn't too bad because the stuff is fluffy. Of course, the wind is blowing it all over my driveway again! Congrats on all the goals and/or milestones. I read through all the posts on Friday. Oh, and someone was down because they had lost only close to 50 pounds? Join the club!!!!!!!!!!!! I think there are several of us out there! OK, I'll be back later this week, if not sooner.
lafsalot 0 Posted March 3, 2009 That was me. I'm only down 56 pounds. I'm doing better now though. I'm sure you've said, but I was gone for a while... Why weren't/aren't you losing? Love the poem "K" - the only thing is... I love my wrinkles... it means that I'm not so fat
SpecialK 22 Posted March 3, 2009 Here are two jpg files of sayings I found on the internet I like. I used Google and looked for Poster web sites and also weight loss slogans and found Cafe Press and All Posters as two sources of ideas and then adapted my own. Congratulations on becoming Half the Woman you once were. You are Beautiful!
