what is NSV???

A "non-scale victory"....something that is related to weight loss or healthy living, but not tied directly to the #*$&%@ numbers on the scale!

My husband organized the local scoop night with his fire department and scooped all evening.

Ooh, Amanda, your hubby's cute! And if your shop was anything like ours, his arm must've gotten quite a workout. We had firemen show up for their scoops, but there were only young teenagers working behind the counter. Congrats on being able to stick to just a little treat and good luck with your fill!

I got my fill!!

not that I feel anything yet. It was only 1.5cc in a 4cc band. He did look at my charts (food & exercise) and complemented me for the hard work. Reminded me I m in it for the long haul and not to push things too fast.

Liquids today was harder then I thought it would be. Alot of head hunger.

Happy weekend to all.

Congrats, you fillers!

I'm still trundling along without a fill. I'm beginning to think that maybe my stomach was so big that even a large band was still enough to create restriction. I'm still fascinated by my PB last week - I did NOT see that coming!

I've had pretty good and steady weight loss, due largely to a combination of my absurd starting weight and the fact that I've been very aggressive in terms of making myself move more. Another 37 pounds and I'm going to join the gym.

And I'm rethinking my rewards chart. I think I'm going to get my next tattoo after another 37 pounds.

I always wondered how they know they hit the port with the needle. If your wondering too just look down when they put the needle in. They draw back when they think its in and some blue Fluid comes into the syringe. My Dr said when the band was installed it was purged of air and filled with fluid dyed blue for just the purpose of making sure they hit the correct target.

Someone had their thinking cap on for that one.

No fill yet, but 6.5 weeks post op. I go to the Dr this coming Friday and hoping for at least a little fill. I find my amounts of food are increasing, unless I am very "srict" with my journal. Still losing about 2# per week, so at a loss of 35# since January 2008. So I cannot complain.

I am getting in lots of walking, at least 3 miles 5 times a week. And that makes me feel fantastic.

This weekend heading to see my boy friend......yippee :frown:

Catch up with everyone when I return

This first fill on Tuesday is already paying off for me so I'm a happy camper now, able to stay closer to 800 calories a day now without hunger as opposed to being very hungry at 1200-1400 calories right before my fill when I was at the 6 weeks post surgery point -- so for those in bandster hell...hang in there it will get better. I'm already scheduled for my 2nd fill on June 10th ...I am betting I will need it at that point but we'll have to see.

Fenton - that's fantastic that your exercising and getting moving has helped you. Congrats. I'll post a quick cartoon here in another post to give you a laugh!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
