March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Recommended Posts

I have to be careful with carbs. They are definitely my weakness. the one that creates the most cravings for me is chocolate. I really try to stay away from that - one bite leads to the whole bar. - Fenton I'm in awe of you - you can make a bar last for two days - I have to work on making it last for two hours.

As for fills - I have not had one in over a month - I was scheduled for one last week, but there was an emergency in the OR - I'm praying that who ever it was made out okay - and my fill was postponed.

Westcoastmom - I've read all of the advice you've been given, and there's nothing for me to add. Its all been said - for now.

I'm going to carry a pad with me and write it all (what I eat) down - I may even join weight watchers too - I'm serious. I usually log my food at the end of the day, but it may help to log through out the day because I'm sure I miss quite a bit when trying to remember everything at the end of the day. I certainly skip most little Snacks - a few chips here, a peppermint there... you get the picture.

Boy this feels good.

Fenton - Wonder if recording everything you eat on www.thedailyplate.com is as good as actually writing it down. There is still that visual effect. :confused2:

I think it's the same......the bottom line is keeping track so you know exactly what your intake/output is.....I've been lax about journaling lately....need to get back on the ball!

Had my first PB last night. It was not a nice experience at all. I ate a couple of bites (literally) of my sons steak when I was cleaning up the dinner plates. I had no trouble at the time. about 3 hours later I tried to drink something and it did not feel right. Made me queesy. After I put the kids to bed I felt like I had a golf ball in my chest kept slimiing then got HUGE hic-ups. I was so relieved when I finally spit out that bit of steak that must not have been chewed well enough. Yuck! The hic-ups remained and I had to got o bed with them, but thankfully did not wake up with them.

Slow down and chew-chew-chew.

Christine

Yesterday on Good Morning America they talked about the study. It said that you can even text yourself to keep track. It's not the way you get it written down, but the fact that you are accountable for what you put in your mouth. I have found that when I'm away from the computer and don't log my intake online as I go I tend to not log everything. When I do that I definitely get a distorted view of what I've eaten. I think keeping a pad to write on during the day would be a big help if you can't log it as you go.

As far as carbs go, I find that breads and pastas are the only thing that give me real restriction. I can eat as much chicken, fish and beef as I want. I'm still looking for that sweet spot.

most definitely, writing what I eat down is so important. even if I am not near my computer for TheDailyPlate site I will lof on a spreadsheet or just a pad of paper. being accountable for what you put into your mouth is up to you and I do find that actually seeing it in writing is the best "kick in th pants" I can see. And if I see I have had trouble with losing i can go back and see whay I ahd that week before and hopefully be able to see my errors in judgement!!!!

THis week I did not lose at all. Stayed the dame as last weeks weigh in. but this is the first time since surgery, 3/19/08, that I have not lost anything. So glad to know I am going in for a fill tomorrow..

Christine, I feel your pain, chew chew chew is so hard to do. That is my biggest challenge. When it happens it is just a reminder to us all we can't do that anymore (thank goodness)

Fenton and Harley...yes logging in every day is a great idea. Even days that I wasn't really "good" I felt better documenting because the damage wasn't as bad as I made it out to be. I really try to document every day. It also breaks down those carbs/fats/proteins (as you probably know) as I am always concerned with getting enough Proteins.

I went for my 5th fill yesterday and can honestly say I am where I want to be. I am full...really full with small amounts of food. No cravings and feel much more in control. I now have lost 30 lbs..still slow but steady.

Fenton...as soon as I finish the book I'm reading I can't wait to get into your's....and soon you will be hitting your 100 mark...that is so exciting...how you do it without a fill is amazing. Are you fearful of the fills or just don't want them. I think's its unusual that people don'e get fills....

Stay in air conditioning today

sharon:)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
