Dr. Lomonaco in Houston?

Recommended Posts

hey ya'll,

I'm getting closer and closer to goal, so now I'm thinking about plastic surgery. I'll definitely need a boob lift, arms done, neck, etc. I was wondering if anyone has used or knows anyone who has used Dr. Lomonaco in Houston? His site says he specializes in post-bariatric surgery patients. His site is Bodylifthouston

hi Brandy,

he actually posts on this forum. very helpful.

i had a consult with him, but cancelled cause i found 'my guy' locally (DFW area) and am having my plastics this Friday.

i've seen his work on Big Medicine and was very impressed.

good luck!

He has said that if you leave him a post in this PS forum titled "Question for Dr. Lo", he will respond to it within a few days.

Ok cool. The Montel show had the Big Medicine docs on yesterday and they showed footage from the show, which showed Dr. Lo. He seemed like a really nice guy who tries to make you feel comfortable. I guess I'll wait till I'm almost at goal and schedule a consult. I'm getting excited all over again like I did when I finally decided to do the lap band and had to wait several months to save up for it!! I'm hoping to be ready for plastic surgery by Halloween. Thanks for the info guys!!

Thanks for the heads up, I guess I'll call in a couple months to schedule a consult, I'm just scared of finding out how much this all is going to cost!!

Brandy,

you may want to schedule a tad before goal, it took me several months to get a consult (it was late Dec and my appt was for March)

Ditto. I've had two consults so far, but when I was calling for appointments, one of the other offices I called couldn't get me in for almost 3 months.

It isn't cheap, let me tell you! Here's a link to the national doctor's fee averages for 2006 (just remember there are lots of fees not added to this - anesthesia, hospital, etc.): http://www.plasticsurgery.org/media/statistics/loader.cfm?url=/commonspot/security/getfile.cfm&PageID=23761

Like I said, I've gone to two consults for a Tummy Tuck and breast lift. I had one quote for $12,710 and another for $13,280 (including all surgeon/facility/anesthesia/pain-pump fees, etc.). The prices you get quoted will generally be approximately the same in a given geographical region.

yeah, not cheap!

I'm combining mine with a hernia repair so insurance is taking care of a portion, but its about 13,000-ish total for extended TT mega flanks and back / side boob lipo..

Jeez!!! The cosmetic surgery is going to cost me more than my band did!! I want to get my neck lipo'ed, upper arms tightened, boob lift and implants, back lipo'ed, and thighs lipo'ed and possibly lifted. I looked online last night and my guesstimate is about $18,000!! Oh well, I figure I deserve this once I'm at my goal weight anyway!!

I would imagine that you'll be spending at least $20k-$25k. I got a quote for a Tummy Tuck, breast lift, implants, and Lipo to my back, flanks, and thighs that was over $21,000, so I would say you'll spend at least that much for that many procedures.

Oh well, I don't care if it costs me thirty grand, I figure I've earned it!! I'm buying some home gym equipment this weekend to start working on my muscle tone, so my muscles will be nice and tight when I'm ready for PS and my results will be better. I've been doing tae bo but it's really just a cardio workout.

Hey Brandy- I'm seeing him in May. I called this week and they could have seen me in April but I'm hoping to do surgery in the fall. I'm a physician and every surgeon (plastics or not) I ask at work (I work at a cancer hospital) recommends him.

Hi BrandyK,

Congratulations on your progress so far. I do agree with coming in early for a consult even if you are not at goal.

There is a lot of planning involved when it comes to these procedures, and I am booked several months in advance.

Check into our free seminars on Thursdays too...they are a good chance to get to meet my staff and I in a nice setting with 10-15 other people.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
