first fill- quick question- please advise!

I am going for my first fill today. My Dr's office didnt say anything about my diet for today (I have already eaten breakfast) Generally do you do liquids on the day of your fills, or is it just afterwards?

no food 4-5 hours before and no liquids an hour before. My doc said "liquid diet" for a day after.
