Linzlou 0 Posted April 14, 2008 Hi everyone I am 6 days out of surgery. I have been on Clear Liquids except for the proetein shake (whey protein+1 tsp sugar free choc pudding + soymilk and ice blended) I have had 2 of these one yesterday and one this morning. I only did half a glass (I could have done more, but I am trying to be good.) I have zero energy and feel like I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I plan to start walking this afternoon, but I really need some energy. For some reason I am craving tuna fish!!! And I can't tell if this rumbley feeling is hunger or my tummy telling me I have too much?? I had a half cup of broth for lunch.< /p>

My doctor wanted me to have 60 grams of Protein a day. I used powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein that has 20 grams of protein per serving, mixed with skim milk for another 8 grams so two of these shakes a day provided 56 grams of protein. I drank four ounces of this four times a day. The first couple of weeks were rough but I managed to get my protein in and felt really good. Another thing that my doctor recommended and I took is Vitamin B-12. I took the sublinguil 500's every day. I think that game me a bit of energy. Make sure you are getting enough rest and not trying to do too much. Your body has been traumatized and you need time to recover. If you can fall asleep at the drop of a hat then that probably means you need to sleep. Take some time for yourself. Good luck to you, in a month or so you will forget that this even happened to you, except that you will be thinner.
