feelgoodagain 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi Ya'll, I was just referred to the surgeon today and asm still going to have a long road of getting it approved but, was wondering if you all might give me some input on about how long is the hospital stay and recovery? How long before you can usually go back to like a desk job?
VegasGrace 1 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi and welcome! The hospital stay should be none, as it's an outpatient procedure. However, some docs will admit a patient for a day or two. I was up and at 'em by weeks end. But I got tired really quick. I remember sleeping alot. Everyone is different and you can gauge it for yourself.

TerMur 0 Posted February 27, 2008 I was banded 25 hours ago. The doctor usually requires you to stay over night but I was banded at 7:30am and by 4:00 I was on my way home. I am not sure about returning to work because I do not have a job. The only thing I am experiencing is gas so I have to walk alot and that helps.
Kat817 19 Posted February 27, 2008 I did have a hospital stay, but was able to travel 5 hours by car, and another 5 in the airplane on day 3. Come home, and was back to taking care of my 16 month old granddaughter the next day....took it easy, but walked lots! Was out shopping the same week. I could have handled a desk job, if it was one I could get up and move around as needed. Good Luck! Kat
GreenChrysalis 1 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi feelgoodagain. My surgery was outpatient, so I checked in at the surgery center at noon for a 1 pm surgery. I was out of there by 4:30 pm. It really depends on your surgeon and your insurance company's requirements (some require an overnight stay, but I was self-pay). My surgery was on a Thursday. I went back to work on Tuesday and I have a desk job. I'd planned to go back on Monday, but I was too tired.
