I did not want to post in the Congratulations, Kelly! thread, because I do not want to hijack that thread. Kelly had nothing to do with this. I'm sure she'll be a great moderator and she deserves our support.

BUT neither Marie nor Betty are moderators now. I do not think they removed themselves.

It's not a question of whether the moderators have special powers. They do have some, but not that much. It's not a question of it being a great honor or not. It's a question of a conflict that arose and got out of hand. There were basically two camps. The Marie Did Wrong camp and the Lisa Did Wrong camp. One camp was disciplined, you might say. The other was not. This is the most destructive thing in my opionion that has happened yet on this board. More destructive than the original conflict.

I know one very supportive long-term member has already left because of this. I am certainly thinking about leaving. It truly breaks my heart.

Nancy

Nancy, it's premature to jump to conclusions about anything. Please don't speculate. If the people involved care to comment, they will. If not, we have to respect their decision(s). If you recall, Alex removed all the moderators for a time. It may just be that not everyone has expressed a desire to return. Can't we respect people's independence? Or at any rate, let's respect the fact that none of this is worth rehashing publicly. If you have comments or a POV to share, you might want to write Alex privately.

Thanks.

Becky, I'm sorry if I sounded abrupt. It's just that speculation is what leads to drama. As for when all the moderators were removed, Alex stated that he'd done it temporarily. I'm not up on all the technical issues involved, but if he said he did it I'd assume he did.

Please feel free to express your opinions. Opinions are not speculation about what did and did not happen that only others know for sure.

Im very happy to se both Betty and Marie are still moderators of LBT

As well as the rest of the moderating team :)

Like Betty said All of the moderators add something special to this board.

You know...this is Alex's board and he can run it the way he wants. And I think that many of us who were not in on the BS would really like everyone who DOES have a vested interest to take the discussion to a private venue or at least, so as not to make those investigating banding think that getting a band makes people f'ing crazy, to someplace other than the "General LapBand Discussion Board."

Forever and ever, 'til the wheels fall off, AMEN!

Sue is right. I should not have posted this in a public thread. I am sorry I did, I really regret it.

And...I suppose I could have been a tad more delicate. So I apologize. (I seldom do that, so will someone alert the media?)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
