surgery in MX-- need fill dr in Jax or SE GA

Recommended Posts

I am planning on having surgery in Mexico in the first week in June. I need a dr. close for after care and fills. Does anyone have suggestions? The dr I went to locally for info about WLS (before I knew insurance wouldn't cover) won't do it because I am going out of the country

Look up fill centers usa. They have a state to state listing. I live in SC and go to NC to get my fills. They are supposed to be opening one in Hilton Head. Don't know how far that is from you. Look it up.

So far it's been fine. The Doc I seee in NC is great. I don't know when the Hilton Head is opening, call the number on their site they should be able to tell you. Most of the women I've spoken to at fill centers have been very nice and have helped with questions and all when I've needed.

Hi, I get my fills at the Roswell fillcentersusa location. I am figuring that is too far north, but I know they also do fills in Moultrie, GA.

I have had all 4 of my fills there and they have been great.

Much success with your surgery!!

I use Dr Whelchel in Jacksonville. He did the surgery at Memorial Hospital, but the office is North Florida Sugeons. His number is 904-399-5678 if you want to give him a call. He is off of University Blvd, close to the interstate.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
