ajoneen 0 Posted February 26, 2008 I'm a few days into the pre-op diet and am having a bloated maybe gassy feeling (nothing productive) that is uncomfortable. I thought maybe I was getting a bladder infection because the discomfort is that low but I can pee fine and it is very pale and clear. I'm varying my meals so as not to have too much dairy but maybe I'm getting sensitive to lactose. I going to give Lactaid a shot tomorrow. Any thoughts? Kat817 19 Posted February 26, 2008 What does your pre op diet consist of? Every Dr. has a different diet----so something in yours might be the culprit.... Kat

Manda_T 1 Posted February 26, 2008 I don't know what is causing it, but I would like to say I want your pre-op diet!!!! I get 2 Protein shakes and a lean cuisene a day....the thought of it has me freaked out hence the reason I am eating everything in sight right now:thumbdown: Good luck to you, Amanda
ajoneen 0 Posted February 26, 2008 Im seeing my reg Dr today for her to sign off on the surgery. I'm going to mention it to her. I took the gas-x last night and the lactaid this morning with what is now my Breakfast. Still have discomfort. Maybe it's getting me ready for the discomfort of the surgery. tarrn13 1 Posted February 26, 2008 i have to tell you, i think that your issue is coming from the meal replacement drink, those can be pretty hard on people who do not normally use them, they cause the gassy discomfort you are speaking of, either try a different brand, or sub in something else in place of it. ajoneen 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Saw the Dr today. Looks like I have a cyst on an ovary. She wants to do a sonagram and have a look. Shouldn't effect my getting banded. Just a bit of discomfort and wait and see. Weird how it turned up now.
mercilessmarcy 1 Posted July 1, 2010 I had the same problem. I had blood drawn for allergy testing just before surgery. It took two weeks to get the results. Allergic to cow's milk and soy! I use Almond milk now. No more gas or bloating!
