pg and all of sudden very tight

Recommended Posts

my band is very tight all of a sudden starting yesterday. I dont know if it pg hormones or what. I havent really pb except today and some yesterday. I am having trouble getting liquids down even. I had really had heartburn before that for a few days. I am going to call and see if I can get an unfill tomorrow. I didnt want to get unfilled this early in the pg! that is such a bummer. I am so worried about gaining too much and having complications with the baby! I dont think I can do anything about it though I have get some of this out. Its terrible I am starving but I cant eat! Anyone else have this??

This happened to me too! It was about the 5th week for me, and I lived on chili and ice cream for a week until I could get in for an unfill. My doc took me from 1.9ccs to 1.3ccs, so not a huge unfill. It turned out to be just enough to let me eat like a normal person again. I lost two pounds right after that, and since then I've only gained 1 back! I still have restriction, which is nice, but I can eat most things again, like a sandwich or Pasta, which I haven't been able to eat since last summer. Needless to say, I'm enjoying this. :)

Well I called the dr today but couldnt get in until tomorrow morning. I have been able to get thin liquids down slowly today. i tried thinned out cream of wheat this evening NO GO!!!! back up it came. I am so hungry. I really hope it is not a slip, I just dont know what would have caused it if it is a slip. Jill

Got in this morning they took out .8 cc so far I feel better. Time will tell- he said it was common and I will probably have to get more out later as baby grows!

That's what my doc said for me too. I'm hoping it's not for awhile yet! Is it just me, or are you a little freaked out about getting a band adjustment with a huge baby belly? My new doc doesn't use flouro and it wierds me out a little for him to be poking around looking for the port!

Well my port is easily accessible now that I have lost some weight, my Dr has never used Floro, but I dont think some people realize that Floro is an XRAY! You cant do that with the baby anyway, at least you really are not suppose too. I also dont like being exposed to all those xrays anyway so I would opt to have a dr try first. My Dr has never missed so far. Mine is easy though. Although yesterday when the nurse was preping me she felt for the port and said wow yours is really under you rib. I giggled and said actually no that was my rib- I have them now! She laughed too!

Oh my gosh, you're so right about it being an X-ray. I didn't even think about that! My original surgeon did all her fills under flouro, so I think I was a bit spoiled by that. My new guy doesn't, and he had a bit of a hard time getting in mine -- I was terrified he was going to tell me it had flipped or something. So, for me, my first adjustment w/out flouro, was not pleasant at all! Hopefull when I lose more belly flab (after baby) it won't be so hard to access.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
