renewedhope 4 Posted February 25, 2008 Ny 9 year old son drew this for me tonight. I almost cried when he gave it to me. He told me that he is proud that we are getting healthy. Notice in the picture I am throwing a doughnut in the trash (he said it is cholcolate with sprinkles). We are outside playing catch. This makes me want to work harder than ever to reach goal. I have so much more to give my family now. I can only imagine what it will be like at goal. The shirt says, "moma fumilius". He got that from a line in Oh Brother Where Art Thow, when George clooney refers to himself as the "pedifamilius". I know, I'm a doting mom, but i just couldn't help but share. georgia girl 35 Posted February 25, 2008 Oh, Renewed.......I know that makes you feel so good! I don't blame you for cying....I almost cried too, it's soooo sweet. You must be doing an awesome job at getting healthy if your 9 year old son is noticing all your hard work. I feel exactly the same way you do, I can't wait to get to goal and can't even imagine what life is going to be like. That's a great NSV for you, WTG and thanks for sharing! socalgal3 4 Posted February 25, 2008 That is so awesome. I just have to share that I work with kids and one of the things that pushed me over the edge into having surgery was when one of them drew a picture of me closely resembling a snowman! Kids are so honest and this must make you feel very proud! Keep up the great work!
steph_co 9 Posted February 25, 2008 OMG...how cute is that? Kids are so perceptive. That's really great. Keep up the great work! I can tell he is already so proud of his Moma!

mom007 0 Posted February 25, 2008 Great picture! Keep up the great work! I know what it feels like to get this done show you can show your kids that a healthy lifestyle isn't toxic. Yes, a Happy Meal may be good for the moment, but eating healthy is good for a lifetime. What spurred me on to do this was my 4 year old telling me that when she grew up she wanted to be "fat like you, Mommy". I wouldn't wish this on her for anything! Hope we can start making changes together as a family!
