Wismer 1 Posted February 24, 2008 Hi I just had surgery on Tuesday and it hasn't been as easy as I thought. Did anyone else have an allergic reaction and yeast infection post surgery. I am taking Benadryl (yuck) but still itch along with post-op pain. I can feel that there is something foreign in my abdomen. Is this common? Also, how long do I have to stay on Clear Liquids? Can I have strained cream Soups? Wismer:mellow:
SherryW 4 Posted February 24, 2008 Hello Wismer...these are definately all good questions for your surgeon or bariatric center so I highly recommend calling them as soon as you can. Possibly call the doc on call for the center or hospital you had your surgery. I know my bariatric center has a special crew on for calls on weekends or off hours. Could it be that you are allergic to latex and wasn't aware of it? i know the powder in the gloves makes me very itchy and lots of hospitals use those when taking care of you. I could definately tell there was something in my body around my stomach when my surgery was over but, I wasn't in any pain from it other than the incision sites. I hope you feel better soon...definately give your doc a call to play it safe. Good luck!

Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted February 27, 2008 I only had to be on Clear Liquids 24 hours. Then 4 weeks of a liquid diet but I could have yogurt and Soups if I blended them.
