I just can't wait!!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just finished my Psych evaluation on Feb.4th and I think that was the last exam I need before the office visit with the surgeon. I'm getting very impatient!! I'm going to call tomorrow just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. I was hoping to have the surgery done during our Easter vacation from school (I'm an elementary school teacher) so I would be well established in the diet before summer. It's coming awfully soon, so I don't think that's going to happen.

I've watched the procedure on YouTube so many times, I feel like I could do it myself!! I'm 35 years old, around 5'4" and weigh about 262 right now. The absoulute heaviest I've ever been. I've been ordering Phentermine online for so long to try and battle the buldge, (it stopped being really effective a long time ago!) but I went completely off of it so I wouldn't have any foreign chemicals in my body during surgery. Now I look and feel like a Thanksgiving parade balloon!

Just curious as how many are out there in limbo like I am right now. There's nothing left to do except wait for the surgeon to call. I'll be going to Hickory Surgical Clinic in Hickory, NC. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Me too! I'm not exactly official, but very close!! I should be official tomorrow or Tuesday(with insurance). Once that comes through, I will meet with my surgeon and have my date finalized, it's one of two days at this point.

Hi everyone. I am in the waiting phase. I had all my appointments and even have a date, but I am waiting for final approval from my insurance. I called the surgeon's office to see if they heard. I scheduled my date on the 5th of Feb so I guess it isn't too long for insurance. It seems very long to me. I would be very disappointed if things didn't go through. I spent 6 months with required sessions required by my hospital. The make everyone who wants weightloss surgery to go through these classes. I guess it is good to make sure it is what you really want. This site has been great for me lately seeing all the positive results. I don't read about any of the problems. I want to have a positive attitude when I go. I'm also a teacher in a vocational high school and want to have a good start before summer. I don't know how many people I want to tell. My close friends know, but others at work don't need to know. I guess I am afraid to tell people in case I don't lose much. That isn't very positive is it?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
