Pictures of children, babies, and animals always make me melt. This one is no exception. He is an angel. You and your family are truly blessed.

Two of my cousins have kids with Down Syndrome. One is 32 now--going on 12--and a typical adolescent. He lives in a group home and has a job-coached job.

The other is about eight years old. He is also autistic. And he has a 13-year-old brother who is in college. Talk about the cloudy corner of the gene pool...we are a strange lot.

I LOVE the name Nolan..it is such a strong name! Your little nephew is going through a rough time right now...and he is in my prayers and throughts. My cousin has a son with Down's Syndrome and he also had to have an operation early on. He is doing wonderfully now...and is such a sweet, precious little boy!

Please let Nolan know that this LBT bandster wishes him a safe and successful operation, and a speedy recovery! Congrats to your family on the birth of such a beautiful baby!

Chicago boy

He is a cutie. My son is 3 1/2 now and when he was born went directly to the neo natual unit. He swallowed the meconium and was put on oxygen till he was 3 weeks.

We took him home after 4 days but each child is different and even though your sister has a different road to take than most people the Lord will be by her side as well as the whole families. My son had trouble latching on to the nipples we went and bought every one out there that would be my suggestion is try them all one is bound to work. We thought my son had downs he various test done but nothing showed up. They say he could have a touch if that is at all possible but we do not love him any less. He has been getting physical as well a speech Therapy since he was 6 months. Now he is enrolled in a early intervention program with the school and he attends twice a week. I see so many downs children out there that they live a good life and are no different in my eyes than other child.

I heard once that the Lord only gives the special children to Special parents.

Believe me I know I am not one of them but he brings so much joy to us that I would not trade him for anything in this world.

Will keep you all in my Prayers

What a Beautiful Beautiful little boy. I have worked with a lot of DS children and I can tell you they are the most loveable children I have ever worked with, and I have been in the preschool business for 22 years.

Update...My nephiew Nolan is home with his mom & dad as of this past Friday. Thank you to everyone who was thinking of him. He is just the greatest little baby I ever met. Mom is having a difficult time accepting what has happened and is somewhat depressed but she is going to pull thru some how. Keep mom in your thought as she is now caring for this little baby who may still need heart surgery to repair the hole. Time will tell but thats all for now.

Peace!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
