I've tried eating fish the last two Fridays...due to Lent...and find that I just can't do it. After one or two small bites I'm feeling 'stuck!' Anyone else have problems eating fish?

How are you preparing and what kind are you eating

I eat fish almost every night - I eat catfish, talipa and salmon baked with a little olive oil & garlic (350 for 15 minutes)- I have had no problems - but I can eat almost anything including bread as long as i eat slowy - small bites and chew and I do have restriction..

Have you tried tuna salad with lite or n/f mayo? ?? - Fillett of Sole is quite soft too - and back in the day when we had to eat fish every friday - my mom fixed it almost every week - but coated with corn meal & fried with an almondine butter sauce - I will still coat my fish with corn meal - spray with pam and bake - so may just have to get some sole this weekend...

my favorite fish is cod and turbot, and i am having trouble with them getting stuck. the only way to get them down is by adding them to a minestrone or vegetable Soup so they are very moist.

Fish has been a staple of mine since my earliest soft food stage. The key is to get a nice, flaky fish, cook it perfectly, take tiny bites, and chew well. If the fish is underdone, it will be chewy, if it is overdone, it will be tough. I like tilipia, orange roughy, cod and grouper. I like to dip the filets in a little seasoned egg wash, then dip in a bit of seasoned Parmesan cheese, then saute in a little bit of EVOO in a small pan. Make sure you are cooking it for the correct amount of time and chew, chew, chew!

Ky

I had the same problem, but I was trying to eat tuna salad. I have since swapped to talapia and grilled shrimp and have no problems as long as I chew well and don't over eat. I forgot yesterday was friday and took a bite of turkey and had to spit it out and then settle for a Protein Shake for lunch so I feel your pain. ;) Take care.

I have trouble after about 3 bites of anything--even flaky fish. My doctor assures me everything is just fine with the band. I have no problem with my esophagus, and I have NO fill in my band. Yet, I still have trouble eating. It is unpredictable. Lately, I even have trouble throwing it back up...so I stay in pain for several hours. Does this happen to anybody else? What do you do about it?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
