TwilightLover83 0 Posted April 6, 2009 So I'm newly banded, & am still on the "full liquid" phase, but as for a really thin crust pizza, do you have a "Monical's" around where you are? Maybe ask the waiter to make it extra crispy and small bites and chew chew chew! I've been told as far as the cheese, cheese is good it's a Protein. I have no advice on the pancakes! Good luck!!!!!! Andrew6 0 Posted April 7, 2009 I tried pizza about 5 monthes after I got banded. I had the meat and cheese and left the bread alone. I didn't however keep it down though. Body wouldn't handle it. I haven't tried pancakes but being I live in the south and there are waffle houses on every corner, I have had a waffle sorta. I put the butter and Syrup on it and had about a ½ of a ¼. so I guess that makes it an 1/8th lol. and it went down ok. I think it was more of the mental thing on that one that made you go what the hell are you doing. I did however enjoy a mixture of grits/eggs/ and chunked up bancon. mmmmm Lots and lots of black pepper.
bambam31 168 Posted April 7, 2009 Neither are of course optimal food choices, but I have ate both. Best to save these for a reward meal. Then, eat very slow - with small bites. They are the kind of foods that take me a long time to eat. I have to take a bite and go do something for 5 minutes, then come back for another bite. What's bad is you either end up eating cold food or constantly warming it up. Brad
lizbuff 0 Posted April 9, 2009 I haven't tried pancakes cause I figure they don't have any Protein or nutritional value. About once a month I do have a strong craving for pizza. We order a thin crust pepperoni from Domino's and I can eat 2 small squares very very slowly generally with no problem.
