TheOptimist 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Almost everytime I eat and drink strange noises come out of my throat. I think it's my throat. I have to chew everything up to a fine mush in order not to feel like throwing up. But noises still come out. Maybe my band is too tight. What do you think? losingjusme 12 Posted February 21, 2008 i gurgle all the time. mostly while drinking though. it doesnt necessarily mean you are too tight. if you were too tight, you wouldnt be able to eat or possibly even drink without PB'ing. just a fact of life that i've learned to deal with. TheOptimist 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Thank you so much. That makes me feel better. Thought something was wrong with my band. Although, my husband won't much like it. It makes me sounds like I'm possesed!!! :-)

nomadem 1 Posted February 22, 2008 just started gurgling and now have some pb's on solids..its been a week since my second fill AND I just started my TOM. This isnt too tight even if I have to stick to softer foods?
Joy Joy 0 Posted February 22, 2008 This is my favorite subject. I am actually gurgling now drinking my Protein Shake. I have been banded for over a year and it doesnt go away. My friends and family still crack up when I do it. Its just something you have to get used to. I work in customer service so I have to hope one calls when I am drinking something cuz that means I have to hit the mute key real fast or they think im burping...haha. TheOptimist 0 Posted February 22, 2008 Can you just imagine if we all had dinner together! Funny. Glad to hear I am not alone. Initially thought I was a mutant.
TulipStar 2 Posted February 22, 2008 I have had lots of noises and weird sounds coming from my stomach and throat. I don't think it means you are too tight. It just means you are banded :smile2:
kbinaz 0 Posted February 22, 2008 I think the gurgling is a sign that you are tight enough, not too tight. I kind of like it because it proves to me that the food is sitting there before going straight through the band! I waited a long time for restriction and am so happy to finally have it! kacee 3 Posted February 23, 2008 I started about a month ago with little tiny burps...all day long. I can just SEE it in my mind's eye....a bubble smaller than the size of a grape....it just bubbles to the surface and I feel it pop up into my throat. If I let myself do it, I could literally do tiny burps about every 20 seconds. Sometimes I forget myself and I let them "pop" and then I rembmer that it IS a burp and people can probably still hear it even though I have my mouth shut. Gotta watch that!
chichicha 0 Posted March 7, 2008 I seem to gurgle 24/7. It is the loudest after I eat or drink something, and is soooo embarrassing!! Someone told me the gurgling could be a symptom that my band has slipped....has anyone else heard this??
MacMadame 81 Posted March 7, 2008 According to WLS for Dummies, the gurgling is gas and it's normal. Do you guys think that's true?
juliegeraci 7 Posted March 7, 2008 With good restriction it does sometimes bring gurgling. How much can you consume at once?
shortgal 5 Posted March 7, 2008 I gurgle if I eat yogurt, I think it just goes through the stoma slow, like sludge! Just drink or eat slower, that helped me. My stomach makes lots of grumbling noises, all the time.
