Motocrossgirly 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Hi, I was hoping all of you could shout out & tell me what your fill level is in your 10 cc AP Band? I have 2.75 and I think my Doc is on the conservative side with fills. I am not feeling any restriction. I know it takes a while, but when I discussed it with my doc he mentioned that he never goes more than 4 cc's and only adds approximately .5 cc each time... Just looking for some info. Thanks! rustymarie 6 Posted February 21, 2008 I just got my first fill 2-18 and my doctor put in 4cc's. He said he's pretty agressive because most of his patients have to drive so far. I can feel more restriction than before the fill but I'm still hungrier at night.
Chrisann 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Two fills since my surgery, 5cc's in the 10cc band, and I am feeling serious restriction in the morning, but less at night. Happy with it right now, not PB'ing, Sliming either.
michiganer 0 Posted February 21, 2008 I just had my second fill today and I have a 10cc band. My first fill he put 4 cc in and he just added one more cc today. I think I feel more restriction but it is hard to tell because I am on liquids all day today and tomorrow. He said I will feel really restricted once he gets me to 6-8 cc's. Weird how my Dr. says 6-8 cc's is good and yours won't go over 4cc's...
restrict2008 0 Posted February 21, 2008 if you read the directions put out by allergan they recommend putting 3-4cc in the first fill. So i would think that most people will need more than 4 cc.
mandi78 3 Posted February 21, 2008 I have 7.7 ccs in mine and while I do have restriction, I feel that I still need more. For instance, I wake up a lot of mornings STARVING. According to a book they gave me at my fill center, you should not be hungry in the mornings when you are at proper restriction. I will be getting my 6th fill on Monday. TulipStar 2 Posted February 22, 2008 I have had 5 fills and am at 7.1 cc's. To compare at my second fill I was at 5.5 cc's.
HeatherA 1 Posted February 22, 2008 I was given 3cc in the hospital during surgery, then my first fill was 2cc. Yesterday I went for my second fill, and ended up with .75 additional. So I currently have 5.75cc and felt restriction while drinking yesterday.
Motocrossgirly 0 Posted February 22, 2008 Wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted replies... It will definitely help me when/if I question my MD for more in my band. Thanks!
kbinaz 0 Posted February 22, 2008 I have had 5 fills for a total of 7.5 ccs in my 10cc AP (small) band. Am currently very well restricted and thinking I am at my sweet spot. My doctor is conservative, too, (not necessarily a bad thing now that I am past it!) The fills were 1.5ccs, 1.5ccs.,1.5ccs, 2ccs, then 1cc. Since fill #5 on Tuesday I have lost 3.5 pounds. julieh 1 Posted February 22, 2008 I had my first fill on 2/15/08 and received 3 cc in my 10cc band. I am feeling a little restriction but wish I had more. However, I have noticed that if I don't chew chew chew, I can feel it all the way down!!!! I still feel hungry quite often and am not sure how to fix that. My Dr. recommended that I have 125 grams of Protein a day, there is no way I can eat all of that. Anyone have any idea of how to get that in? Thanks!!! Lala D 0 Posted February 23, 2008 My doctor put in 3cc during the surgery, my first fill was 2.5 and my last fill (today) was another 1.2. I did not notice any difference with the first fill, I could gulp Water like I usually go and took my handful of Vitamins all at once that evening. This fill is a completely different story. The water I drank at the doctors office went down very slowly but I assumed it was because of my morning appointment and I tend to be tighter in the morning. Now at 5:30 I am drinking some chicken broth and it is still moving very slowly. It is going down but I can really "feel" a difference. It will be interesting to see if this restriction lasts. So at 6.7 in a 10cc band I am hoping for the ever elusive "sweet spot". Happy losing!
kbinaz 0 Posted February 25, 2008 I am wondering why your doctor doesn't go over 4ccs? (I just reread your post) as most people with the 10cc band require at least 5-6 ccs to get to their sweet spot. I have 7.5 and finally am losing weight. Are you sure that is what he said??? 4 cc's for one person might be their sweet spot, and 4 ccs for another person might give them no restriction at all (ME) it depends totally on the thickness of your stomach so to make a 'rule' to never give over 4ccs seems really wrong. luluc 6 Posted February 25, 2008 I have 7.4cc in my 10cc band. Restriction is fine however I think I do more by dieting and exercise to loose weight. My doc told me I would more than likely need to go over 8cc to get to my sweet spot. I know I'm not there, I can see my husband (aslo banded) totally at his "spot" with 6.5cc in his 10cc band. I go for fill number 6 next wk - "maybe" that will be the one.
