Lettuce

Recommended Posts

I've had lettuce, several kinds: iceberg, romaine, butter, spring mix, etc. w/o problems. I was banded in 12/07 and have not yet had a fill. My doc okayed my eating lettuce after one month check-up.

I was never given a salad guideline. As with most foods, the only way to tell whether or not you can tolerate it is to try it out.

However, I wouldn't recommend it immediately after a fill. When you've graduated from mushies you should be able to try most anything.

I don't have a problem with lettuce or greens of any kind. BUT I have heard that romaine lettuce is the best tolerated. Try that first and see how you do. Just CHEW CHEW CHEW.

I've been eating a cup of salad greens almost every day since a couple days after I started on the post-op solid food stage. I've had two fills so far and usually start back with my daily greens a couple days after each fill. So far I haven't had a problem, though I'm not particularly restricted. Hope that helps -

Thanks to everyone who has responded - I'm 16 days post of - had not complications with sticking, PB's or anything of that nature - I'm on mushies now, so I might try it in a few days...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
