Sorry to bring up the subject, but anyone else having trouble with Constipation. I'm not sure if it's because I don't eat as much as I used to or what. But I seem to have less frequent bowel movements. Luckily these are helped out by TOM. Is this just the way it's going to be?? :confused2:

I've even tried Alli...you know...it's supposed to cause you to have accidents, right?

Didn't even work for me. I took it for over a week and gave up.

If alli won't work...I'm a lost cause.

I actually eat chocolate or a doughnut every week to be able to go.

I try to eat some form of fiber---whether it be fresh fruit---or cereal---and it has seemed to keep things working!

I use the bite size shredded wheat as snack foods---it works 2 ways---provides the Fiber, and gives me something to crunch and munch!!!!

But less in will definitely mean less out, especially if your diet is high in Protein, and low in bulky foods.

It sounds gross----not sure if you have ever had to perform doggy duty----and be the pooper scooper----but the higher quality of food you feed the dog, the less cleaning you have to do! The lower quality bulk filler they put in low cost foods, increase the output. We work the same way!!! When we take in less, and it is mostly things the body can draw nutrients from, there is less to eliminate. We spent a lot of years filling ourselves with junk, and getting used to having to eliminate it regularly just to fit more in. There is no longer a problem with that!

It is really hard not to make a tacky comment about this being a "crappy" or a shi^*y thread!!! LOL!!!! Just could NOT resist!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
