Drove today!!

Recommended Posts

I drove my daughter to school today, then I headed to Walmart for extra strength liquid tylenol. I wound up talking to people there for about 1/2 hour. It was my 1st "field trip". I feel pretty good. Didnt take a perc this am. Just tylenol. It does get better every day!!!

Patty...I haven't driven yet, but I have been getting out everyday. Yesterday hubby and I went to the store to buy some PRUNE juice. I bet you can guess why. And, of course, it works.

My doc gave me liquid Lortab. I haven't been in much pain so I just take a dose at night and I sleep REALLLLLLY well. My husband got up early and left for work this morning. So I got my stepdaughter ready for school, made her Breakfast and packed her lunch and then walked her to the bus stop. I feel really good and actually have to stop myself from doing too much.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing great too!

We are on our way!

I drove the morning after my surgery. I wasn't taking any pain meds though I was indeed sore. But the idea of my daughters NOT going to daycare that day was way worse than the pain, so I bit the bullet. :rolleyes

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
