I'm nearly 3 weeks post op and feeling great. Except for the lump protruding from my port incision.

At my 2 week doctor's appointment, the physician assistant told me that it's just Fluid and it will find a way out and that it would burst like a blister. The issue is that the incision is basically healed and the skin does not look thin at all, or thin enough to burst like a blister.

The last several days, I've noticed that the bump is getting a bit more solid.

Has anyone had this issue? I really don't want to have this bump and worry that it's turning into something more serious. I'm due back for to the doctor's office March 5th for my first fill, and this time I will be seeing the doctor himself. Will this bump prevent a fill? Will he drain it for me?

I doubt it is anything to be concerned with, but definitely bring it to your docs attention at your visit if it is still present. I can't imagine it would ever prevent a fill. Fills are a very simple procedure and take mere seconds. If the bump becomes painful or red, definitely call your doc and don't wait for your appointment, but it sounds like you are just fine. I remember my port incision and one of the others, as well, took quite a while to heal on one end because the stitches weren't disolving completely. I thought it was this huge deal and when I pointed it out to the doc, he just grabbed it with tweezers and pulled it out like it was nothing...and it WAS nothing! LOL So I was worried unnecessarily! Good luck and keep posting!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
