Has anyone used Dr. Jose Rodriguez

Please don't pay any attention to skinny's comments, this person has posted the same negative comments on other threads. Really, you must call around and find out for your self, there are a lot of misinformed fear mongers on this site!

Next time you talk to Joanne at belite ask her how many times she has been sued (and lost) for fraud.

There are good and bad experience since the outcome of the surgeries and the effect of the lab band vary from person to person. From reading the post, it sounds like skinnyplease is warning against the use of belite services. I can't respond to that, since they are a middle man service that I don't have experience with. This is why it is critical that you do your research take in the good and the bad- then make your own decision.

Both my husband and myself were very please with Dr. Rod's services. We both didn't have any complications either. But that is our story....

Oh yeah, one more thing you want to do is use a "rolling suitcase" as your luggage and clean out your purse. You will be at a lifting restriction of nothing over 5 pounds.

I got the airport guys to help me. I checked my luggage and one of the kind information people helped to get my bag off the luggage claim belt.

Hi -

I have heard lots of good things about Dr. Rod, so much that I am using hm next week for my surgery. Beware of others' comments about BeLiteWeight. They are a good organization designed to help people schedule surgery in Mexico. No, I don't work for them, either. My advice for you in general is, if you hear negative comments, find out if they are coming directly from the source, or through someone else. I found lots of first hand positive information about Dr. Rod and beliteweight, but I also found lots of not-first-hand negative comments about beliteweight. So if people get negative on ya, make sure they have the proof to back it up.

good luck to you!

Loyoyo - I read that you were getting the surgery the same time as me and my mom on another thread, too cool! What day is your surgery on? Maybe we'll run into each other :-)

Good Luck, all the best!

Thanks so much for your reply and we are heading there 3/28. I am working with Teri and she has been great. Is there anything special one needs that we may not be thinking of? I know I am having trouble finding a fill here in Florida as some of them want $400+. I may have to fly back as that would be cheaper and a quick get away.. Did you notice if htey had a safe storage area in the hospital room for your personal items? If you had to do this over again what advise would you give one for pre-op? Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to be prepared..Thanks again..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
