Blender or bullet

Recommended Posts

Just read all the recipe ideas which are great. Would appreciate comments on using a blender v. the bullet. Don't know which to invest in or if it's worth getting both. thanks

The consumer reviews on Magic Bullet are really bad......while they work they are great but they don't hold up and the customer service is non-existant. You might want to read the consumer reviews on Amazon.com before making a decision.

A number of bandsters I know (including me) have used a Hamilton Beach Personal Blender for 2 years, several times a day, and they are still going strong. They are very simple, very sturdy, crush ice nicely.....they are about $12 at Target, etc.:girl_hug:

Another product I've found invaluable is my little Black Decker food chopper....about $10 at WalMart....I use it to chop up chicken and tuna to make it almost smooth for chicken/tuna salad and the onion, peppers that go in it. I went thru 3 others before I found one that would actually carry the food down and chop all of it, not just what sat on the blades. As a bandster with good restriction, you don't need big chunks in your food!!:)

I have used both since being banded in July 07.

They both work fine.

The bullet is MUCH easier and smaller. I use it to chop food and make shakes. I really like it becuase the cups are smaller.

My 10 & 12 year old boys have also been using the bullet. They think the best thing is ice and Orange juice. I can't complain about that.

Have a great one

Cathy

I found the PERFECT blender combo thing at on QVC it is a blender base - but then it has four shake size cups and four mini serving cups -- these all fasten into the actual blade-thing to mix/blend/puree - then you remove the blade thing and put on a sip type cup ring - it also came with the regular type blender pitcher - it was a GREAT DEAL (around 50 bucks) and it is extremely easy clean up - I use it LITERALLY two to three times a day.

I absolutely love my Bullet.

I recommend getting one highly.

It has made my life so much easier than using a blender.

My husband and I have a shake every morning. With the bullet we have our own cup that we blend in. It is so easy.

I was just banded, but I have had my bullet for about 2 years and LOVE it. I use it for everything. I also have a food processor, that got put away when I got my bullet . . . never to be seen again :-)

i too love my bullet. there are several threads here about them. search "magic bullet" to find them. one hint with it...if you want to shred food like grilled chicken for chicken salad, use the small cup...keeps the food down close to the blades. pulses work best for this, as it lets the peices fall back down to the blades. add dressing after shredding all the chicken and putting it in a bowl. i make chicken salad this way at least 2 times a week, but use blue cheese instead of mayo.< /p>

I love love love my bullet. It is so small and I keep it right on my counter. I love the taste of my eggs in it well my children like it nice and fluffy. Just to let you know that my bullet came with the big blender to so when you have to make a bigger batch you can do that to. I just love how easy it is to make single items like chicken salad sandwiches.

Aloha,

Nahealani

Here's a post I've written before:

I know many are fond of the Magic Bullet, but I am just not impressed with it's power (or lack of) compared to other blenders out there. Plus it's pretty expensive at $50-$60, the cheapest I've seen it was at Kohl's at Xmas and that was a four hour day after Thanksgiving sale price for $36.

The Magic Bullet has *only* 225W of power.

There is a personal sized blender at Walmart that you can get online that is 350W and is only $18ish, here's the link:

Back to Basics 3-Speed Brushed Chrome Personal Blender Express, BPE3BR - Wal-Mart

I can't find it in the stores, but I did find it online at Walmart and if you're not a Wallyworld fan, here's an msn link with more estores that carry it:

Back to Basics 350-Watt Personal Blender Express price comparison

I just ended up buying a new blender (I needed one anyway) from Walmart, it's an Oster that came with a food processer attachment and a free personal size mix mug (not all the boxes had that, but they do sell those for about $13 or so) and it was $40 (now less than that). It has 450 watts. I do really like it. This is it:

Here's the link to the personal mixer cup:

But did you know that if you have a blender that has the screw-off base with the removable blades (screw the base off the jar and take the blade assembly and a gasket ring out for cleaning) that that ring actually fits on canning jars? Talk about nice and small, you could use half pint or pint size jars and not have to worry about buying another blender/mixer at all. I have a bunch of those old glass canning jars with the handle on them they used to sell in the dollar stores, those work great.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
