I saw him about a month ago. I was only there about an hour. He is very direct, does not waste time. I would not be nervous. Of course he said I was not psycho, so I am not sure if he is such a good judge of character, LOL.

A number of us have used him, and we have all been approved.

Judy what happened today? Did you get a date for surgery?

My surgery will be in July, we are still hammering out the details. For clear liquids I just drank canned chicken broth, popsicles and Jello. Do you have diabetes? I used jello with sugar and it really screwed me up a little, too much sugar too fast.

As a reminder, you can not eat red jello or popsicles.

Where are you going? I live in Elma, I went to a guy in West Seneca.

Hey everyone. Hi Judy I was there too. My appointment was for 8:15. Too bad I didn't know you would be there. I would have looked for you too.

I had Dr. Lelito too. Nothing to be woried about. It goes very quickly.

How exciting Judy! I am having a tough time being away from home and eating properly. To much time and temptation. I can't wait to get home on Saturday. I am having it on Thursday so I just asked my intern to send me the instructions as I thought I had to stop certain things ahead of time. I am glad I did because I have to stop the Iron pills. Yes I am diabetic so I always have suger free Jello in the house but of course most of it is red. I live in S Buffalo and go to a woman in West Seneca but Dr. Hoffman wants to do this himself.

I was there from 8:45 until 2, but I was closed in the room most of the time. Were you there with your husband? I am vaguely aware of a couple coming out of one of the rooms, but I was focused on myself. It had occurred to me that both of you would be there post-op, then is slipped my mind. Oh well, another time!

Any walkers for this Saturday? I am not sure as I may be camping. I know Nicki will be in NYC, lucky girl. I will call you Val and Lorraine and let you know either way. If I am in Buffalo I will walk for sure!

I am hoping to leave Friday and stay at camp until Sunday am. I will call you though either way. I think Loraine might go. Maybe there will be some new walkers to accompany you?

hi my name is china i have been roaming around here just reading i have did all the test except pyc. and the scope one turned in application about a month ago just to learn today that no one has it and i brought it in. was informed that there is not seminar for july next one isn't till aug. so can any one tell me if they have been invited to one for june. spoke with lisa and she said she was going to check into the date and see where my application could have gone. im hoping that it is just misplaced. im a little disappointed but i have to remember that all good things come to those who wait.

i keep reading about support meetings and was wondering if there is any one that walks during the week in the evening time. if so can i join.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
