Hi All

I received my free pedometer, excersize DVD and Vitamins last week ! YaY! I have'nt tried the DVD yet, i'll probably do it today. The vitamins are ok..not really great in taste but they are chewable. The Vitamin D is very powdery and the Multiple has an after taste. You get 270 Vit Ds and 180 Multi. and the price is really good (free!).

The pedometer is nice ..I have to figured out a way to wear since I don't wear belts or pants with buckled loops every day. I'll probably have to get a long rope to dangle it from.

Have a great day to ALL my peeps!:)

We need to band together and contact the Admin officer of BGH. I had problems back a year and a half a go and was completely satisfied with the results. Seems things are getting out of hand again.

Hey LLL .. thanks for posting this info..it's really good to have.

Hello, I know I've been missing in action. Well let's just say I went to an appointment in July/09. Had a fill and was to return Sept/09 but my appointment was cancelled since the Hoff was going to be gone out of office so I booked Nov. just before Thanksgiving. Well I decided to cancel it since I didn't want to be filled two days before Thanksgiving. Stupied me I ended up getting Feb.23,2010 as my next appointment date. I didn't lose anything yet never gained weight in that 7 months but I could have had better restriction during that time so I could have lost more weight. So lesson learned make sure you get appointments every 8-10 weeks just to keep up on things even if a fill in not needed. I was filled .75CC on Feb.23 and it's been wonderful. I've lost already 27 lbs in 5 weeks. Now tell me this won't work for us bigger losers. I need to update my tracker once I get off this message. Even just a small tweek can make a huge difference.

Ok here is what happened when I had to complain. I was giving Dr. Hoffman's name out to some of my bigger frineds (5) who wanted the band by him. They applied asked for his by name. Went to the seminar and when they called them for a consult 4 out of five of were given to Posner and the other lady can't recall her name right now. They even asked for Hoffman etc... they were told it's the luck of the draw and wouldn't budge to give them Hoffman. Well first if a patient requests a doctor by name they cannot make you take another by the so called luck of the draw and once they wanted him weather or not an appointment date was open for the other two they had to set up a later time with Hoffman. Yet they gave these 4 patients the complete run around. This is a complete violation of patient rights to choose.

So we placed a complaint to the Admin Director and it went through the chain to patient affairs etc....

In the end it worked and it was resolved.

27lbs in 5 wks is AWESOME!!! Now if I could do that..I would be back in da game! Keep up the good work!:)

Hi Everyone,

There is a program through a company called Bariatric Advantage that is offering free Vitamins for patients who cannot afford to purchase them. This is the link:

Bariatric Advantage - RECOVER

The best part about it is you don't have to pay for

shipping and handling!

The form will have to be filled out by the Surgeon or Nurse Practitioner. It sounds like really good program and I received the info from another Bariatric patient. I'll print out copies of the form to bring to the meeting tomorrow (if I don't forget lol).

The company site is: www.bariatricadvantage.com

Ok Val I found it. This is the post regarding the free Vitamins.. Just print out the form and bring it with you to your next appt and Dr Hoffman or one of the NP can fill it out for you and have the office fax it. Whoever faxes it will give you a copy of the fax-sent form. This way you'll know it was sent.

The free pedometer and excersize DVD you posted the info on here.. I think on page 201 or 202.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
