Hi everyone, I haven't been on in a while but I have a (kinda gross) question. Is it normal to not actually bring anything up when you vomit after having lapband done?? I was sick on thursday/friday and would wretch and wretch, but not actually vomit. It was gross...anyway, just wanted your opinion. I was banded 9/22(Dr. Hoffmann) and this was my first episode of being sick. Don't want to do that again for a while!!! Other then that all is well! I am Down from pre-op wt 43lbs and loving my band!!

Also, this is a bit random but are oranges on the forbidden list??

xraigal, I was banded on 10/13 and also had two mornings where I had dry heaves. It has not happened again. It scared me. Oranges are okay but you must peel away the inner white membrane before eating. Congratulations on the weight loss. We walk on Saturday mornings in the mall since it is winter. his Saturday we will be at Eastern Hills Mall at 8am. We would love to have you to join us.

Shar, I never did find out. I know I hadn't eaten as properly as I should have before hand, but I have also done that since (eaten the "wrong things").

Will you call me tomorrow about your appointment and our getting together? It doesn't look great out now but tomorrow may be fine weather wise.

Linda, sounds good. I will call you either way when I'm done with the doc. Lets see how the weather is. The sun is shining here but very windy and I just spoke to my brother and he said that it has been very blizzardy there until about 9am. He said it calmed down since but you never know !! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Are you far from the hospital ? Maybe I can save you a trip.

Shar

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

I as everyone am struggling with all the holiday treats that pass my lips. I was going to make Cookies this year since i had the energy, but decided I was only fooling myself thinking I could control my urge to eat each and everyone of them..

made 16 bean Soup today with ham and rotel diced tomatoes and green chili's it was a bit spicy, but hit the spot on this cold and blustery day...

I have an appt with the Hoff on Jan 13, anyone else that day, I think I am at 2:30.

well, keep in touch guys and merry x-mas and happy new year!

There is a chance I may have to cancel for a work trip, not sure. He wont be giving me a fill for sure. I am still pretty tight from the last one. I have actually lost a little more weight.

Take care, see you all soon.

hi all,

hows everyone doing well i went to my appointment and it was alrigh. my blood pressure was low again yes i said low. so i have to go and have blood work done to see what the problem is. so i go back in january then 2-24-09.

he said i need to try and eat on the pureed stage as my liquid part was low only consumed about 20 and a few times 31 but, not over that. dont c how anyone could drink the require 64ozs. hell i was full just taking the pain meds.

but, i will try. he said im to be eating regular food within the next 3wks that seems fast to me but, im not a dr. so. i have been drinking the same 8ozs p-shake ever since 7am and its now noon. but, my throat is still sore maybe thats y.

but, im gone try it out and see what happens. just gone eat what i can and if i cant im not gone worry about it. well i lost 11lbs im excited about that. said my incisions look good they almost healed. asked when i could go back to the gym he said give a few more days within a wk. im happy about that. my incision where my port is - is still swollen and very bruised and hurts when touched or any thing. so im fine with that i guess. walking anything past 30mins i feel a pulling and my incision starts to throb. so that is where the wk came in at. cant wait to get back. i miss the gym.

well i hope everyone has a wonderful holiday

China, you are doing good. Way to go! But drink that Protein. You will feel it in parts of your body, ie: your legs, if you don't. If you drink coffee you can put a scoop of vanilla in it and it is pretty good and gives you 20 grams. Don't worry about going on real food. I was eating "real" food during my mushies stage. Not because I was trying to be bad but because I could. I still eat bigger chunks than I should be able too. I better get in the habit of chewing or I will be in trouble when I get my first fill! LOL. My husband is the food police at dinner and points out my food isn't cut up as small as it should be and I am eating pretty fast. Of course he does it lovingly.:tongue2:

Keep up the good work!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
