Hi All,

It sounds like I am a bit earlier in the process than others, so I wanted your expertise.

I am headed for my "nutritional" training at the end of the month. They told me that they will tell me how to eat after being banded.

I know there are a lot of differences based on MDs, so I thought I would ask you what things have you found that you can no longer have?

Thanks!

I can not eat any kind of bread. Crackers are ok for me, but no bread.

Gilta:

I have a hard time with Pasta and rice. They're not so good for me anyway, so bye bye rice and Pasta.< /p>

I have had toasted bread and that's okay for me. I don't dare try bread that is untoasted.

Good luck.

Sue

bread is the biggie for me, I cannot eat any kind of soft bread. Sometimes toasted bread goes down ok. Anything doughy doesn't go down well, but that is good because it keeps me away from doughnuts. I love corn, but it always makes me pb for some reason too.

I have heard of a lot of people having problems with chicken. As long as it is moist and not overcooked, I have no problem with it. Thank goodness because I really love chicken, especially on the grill.

HI i am 17 months out from being banded and i can still pretty much eat whatever i want with the exception of bread and ground beef. Bread just gives me such horrible pain that its not even worth eating anymore.

I have problems with bread, rice and Pasta. Some times chicken gets stuck depending on how it is cooked. I have to make sure that I chew alot of anything that I eat. If I eat anything too quickly it will come back up. It seems like that I am tighter in the morning too. I have a smoothie in the morning because if I eat food I feel like I cannot eat the rest of the day. Everything seems to get stuck. If I skip lunch too I am very restricted at dinner and have a hard time eating. That is when I turn to the bad stuff to get relief from hunger.

Anything I want, some things more difficult than others. I would eat a piece of pizza extremely carefully but dont even have to think about salad.

Strangely, yogurt is one of the hardest foods for me, must be the cold factor. A yogurt for a snack is brilliant because it takes me half an hour to eat it.

I'd have to say ditto to most of the previous replies. White bread and rice are my number one no-no's so I don't even try. I used to have a problem with Pasta until I figured out that it was bc I wasn't chewing it very well. Now I can eat it but I really chew well. The things that go down toooo easy are candy and chips - Lord help me! I can't have them in the house.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
