The Biggest Loser Board

Recommended Posts

I am launching a biggest loser challenge at work on April 1. All your ideas are appreciated.

So far I am posting the worste take out like from favorite resturaunts. There is a 100 and 5o$ prize for the winners. We have a 2&5K marathon on April 26 which I have 10 dedicated memebers. It is my hope this will kick off with a bang. I have excluded myself from the money but not from leading this challenge.

Come on, who knows more about this than us?

How long will your challange last? almost every restuarant has a good food choice, so maybe you could list GOOD take out choices from local restaurants. Do you have a lunch hour? Maybe you could start a walking group at lunch time.

Or reminders for drinking Water thorughout the day.

Good Luck.

Bobby- My work has a Biggest Loser challenge too. It works like this: Anyone can participate. It runs for 12 weeks. Everyone who wants to join pays $5 per week (they give their $60 up front, and it's non-refundable). Everyone weighs in with the "leader". All the weights are private. Only pounds lost get posted. They can weigh in as often as they like and use any diet they want. At the end of the challenge, the winner gets all but $100 (that goes to the second place winner). The pot of money is usually pretty big, so it's a great incentive. We don't have any organized events though, I like that you do! Hope that helps. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
