try increasing your calories for 2 days then going back down to where you were at sometimes it helps it sorta shocks your body and then you start losing again. helped me by doing it

we all hit those plateau areas and it sucks but dont give up you will do great.

Hi! We had our LB surgery on the same day and I have only lost 18 pounds, so hopefully I have made your day!!!

I don't know what size band you have or how much they put in your first fill, but if your doctor is anything like mine(very conservative with fills) you probably don't have enough restriction yet. I have had four fills so far and only started feeling restriction with that fourth fill. My fills were 1.5cc's, 1.5ccs,1.5cc's and 2cc's. That totals 6.5 cc's and I am close but not at my sweet spot. So do not despair, you will get there! Can you get your fills closer together? Are you feeling a lot of restriction? I am allowed to get fills every two weeks if I need them. I am confident that fill number 5 (2/19) will get me to where I need to be. My doctor assures me that once I get to the right restriction I will lose weight. Some of us will lose it slower...remember there are all kinds of people on this sight, some have 200+ pounds to lose, some only 50. Some drank 2 liters of soda a day, some never drank any. Some ate a lot of fast food, some didn't. Some never exercised, some were exercise fanatics...so our bodies respond to our new lifestyle in different ways. If you were drinking 2 liters of coke a day and suddenly stop, that alone is going to cause you to lose a lot of weight. I never drank soda or ate fast food, so my body isn't making as big an adjustment as others who did those things. Anyway, what I am trying to say is not to compare yourself with others on this sight. You don't know what their story is. Some doctors give 5 cc's for the first fill, and that person is going to lose weight sooner than the person who got 1.5 cc's the first time. Be patient! Get the fills you need! Follow the rules for eating with a band and it's gonna come off. And remember you have a fellow 10/26-er doing this along with you and having the same frustrations!

My advice - don't give up! Increase your exercise, be sure your calories for the day include enough Protein (check with your nut on how many he/she says), be sure you are getting ALL of your water!

I had NO restriction until my 2nd fill, and then it decreased from week 3 to week 6 when I was back to NONE! My 3rd fill is still doing well after 5 weeks and I hope it continues for another few months!

My surgery was 10/1/07. It took me 3 months to finally accept the fact that I am a "drop and stop" kinda gal!! I'll lose 2 pounds, and then stay the same for a week or 10 days, and then drop again. It doesn't bother me anymore, just so it's never a "stop and hop" (up). I may be losing slower than most, but I am still losing. Lately I haven't been as religious with my exercise as I should, but I still "move" on most days.

Hang in there!!! This was a "forever" decision, and forever is longer than 4 months! GOOD LUCK!

i havent lost any weight for 10 days and i understand how you feel but 25 pounds is good. i have been losing track of my Protein intake and have gone over my calorie intake for the past few days now so i need to get back on track. ive been really stressed out so its hard to focus on what i need to do. i have been eating like i used to before the band like eating fast food once in awhile and having a sweet for the past 3 days in a row. i just dont want to go back to that way of eating. im so discouraged and hope that i can get back on track.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
