Scales (at home)...are any very accurate?

Recommended Posts

I'd like to find some good accurate scales. Does anyone know who makes and sells good scales?

Mine go up and down even though, my eating pattern hasn't changed since surgery, grrrrrrrr...........I feel they are unrelaible. They make me feel awful!

I get very obsessive with lbs and scales so I go by how much looser my clothers are and make myself wait till my next Dr appoinment to find out my weight loss.

I purchased the WW version of a digital glass scale by Conair at costco. goes to 400lbs. It has been very accurate with the Dr's scale.

I've heard Tanita scales are awesome! There make some plain jane ones and then they have some that are about $90-120 or more that measure everything. Here's the description of my favorite one and a pic....

>> The Tanita BC533 Glass Innerscan Body Composition Monitor is one of the most comprehensive body monitors on the market today that's designed for home use. Using advanced Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology that was previously available only to medical professionals, health clubs and professional athletes. Monitoring features help you keep tabs on your body composition and health. There is more to healthy dieting than weight loss alone. Body fat percentage measurements are also important indicators of good health.

This monitor analyzes a full range of body measurements, including weight, body fat percentage, body Water percentage, metabolic age, physique rating, visceral fat, muscle mass, and bone mass. It's a mouthful of measurements, but what it means is that with the Tanita BC533, you now have the unprecedented ability to monitor your body and the effects of your diet and fitness routines, comfortably and affordably in the convenience of your own home.

I have a Tanita - not the fancy one. I love it, it measures me two lbs less than the doctor's scale, but since it is consistantly two lbs. I can live with it.

Here's a link to the scales I have- HealthoMeter Body Fat & Body Water Fitness Tracking scale - Wal-Mart

I absolutely love my scales and they are right on with my lapband doctor's scales. You can program your information (height, weight, gender, etc.) and it will track how much weight you have lost and how much more you need to lose to get to your goal weight. It also keeps up with your BMI as you lose weight. They're awesome!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
