Ditto. Went five weeks. BUT I tried changing up my diet like the recommendations on this board. I upped my calories for a couple days. Went back to normal then did 2 days of liquids. Within two days I dropped 4 pounds all at once. Now I'm losing a pound every 4 - 5 days. It's worth a try.

ill be 3 months out on the 19th of feb. and i havent lost anything in 11 days. i have to say that ive been going over my calories a little and have cheated 3 times this week. that isnt helping. i want to tell you that when i was eating 800-1000 calories a day i wouldnt lose but when i started eating 1000-1200 calories a day i lost 6 lbs in one week. it was healthy calories with a few bad things but overall it was good. this week ive been stressed and have been eating bad calories all week including fast food once and some sweets. so look at what your eating. are you eating enough Protein? ive heard that its normal to stand still at times. i have a friend who had the bypass and she didnt lose for one month.

I am five months post op and haven't lost a pound in almost 3 weeks. I also have a broken foot so exercising is out for me at least for a while. I'm willing to admit that I haven't been making stellar food choices (I think being depressed about my foot and sitting at home alone all day might be at fault) I haven't been out of contol with my eating either, I am sensible and don't over eat. I'm frustrated, I have already lost 50+ pounds and now-nothing...Any ideas about how to jump start losing again?

Congrats on the weight loss.

Well, my first instinct was to 'get an adjustment'. Seems like it's time.

You haven't mentioned weight gain...that's good news!

I gained a few pounds over the past few weeks.... Valentines Day I had 5 pieces of Russel Stovers chocolate and a Coke.

Yep, I lost 3 pounds! Crazy as it sounds, time to time I will eat a Krispey Kreme donught and sodapop or some chocolate...just a tad. That seems to get the weight off me.

You can try it...if it works...you'll know to do this a few times a year. If you gain....don't do it ever again!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
