NSV - Something Nice Fits Me!!!

Recommended Posts

Way to go, Bright! That top is gorgeous. You'll be the life of the party.

We can get Trinny & Susannah on BBC America (satellite), but we're only seeing reruns now. I adore them too --they convinced me to give up tapered pleated trousers, which made me look not only fat but short (at 5'9")! Our US versions on What Not to Wear are dull by comparison, and their taste isn't as good as T&S's. Have T&S had new episodes in 2004-5? Hope so!

WOW!!!! Bright!

You are going to be the belle of the ball! You will put the skinny little blonds to shame! Of course, your idea "wear something "flowing" and black, probably with some sparkly beads on it" is right up my alley! Preferably, low cut of course, an the more sparklies, the better!

I get BBC America but havn't stopped long enough to look for T&S, we usually stop on Barney or The Wiggles, or something like that...kids just take over! I will look for it though. Somehow it seems pointless to try and improve my tastes in lots of things like clothes, hairstyles, make-up, and even TV. Not yet, anyway! But soon...

Penni- you will love that halter, very sexy!!! Take a pic and post it!

That top is so pretty and sexy! Isn't it fun? LOL about the black flowing thing, probably with some sparkly beads. I've worn more than a few of those!

I'm bonkers about Trinny And Suz - they are wonderful, cheeky but wonderful! I did see them on Oprah one day, and wasn't sure how much they were doing in the US - they have great books out, which go thru the best things to wear to every occasion (like Summer Wedding, PTA Meeting etc) and for the best body shapes - I am trying to figure out from their book what skirt/dress to wear at the moment, as I never wear dresses! Here is their english website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/lifestyle/tv_and_radio/what_not_to_wear/index.shtml

What else do you guys get on BBC America? I must check it out....

Thanks for all the encouragement - this is so alien to me - looking forward to an event - usually if I couldn't get out of going, I would be shaking in my wardrobe for a week before! Worried about my damn hair tho....haven't had anything done to it in a year.....gulp!

Bright, you will "knock their socks off"! What color is it? And it will feel so good too! And you have gorgeous hair, so just relax and enjoy. Plus you get to stay the night. How much fun! I love T & S. They give such great advice, and their attitudes are a hoot.

Bright...I am so happy for you...It is great that you have that confidence I can't "weight" to have back. You go girl!

P.S.Hey Kathy....What not to wear is one of my favorite "taking a break" shows. My 11 year old daughter and I watch it together sometimes. Where do they get some of these people?

P.S.Hey Kathy....What not to wear is one of my favorite "taking a break" shows. My 11 year old daughter and I watch it together sometimes. Where do they get some of these people?

I get the rolling eyes or impatient distraction when DH is in the room and I try to watch...it's something I have to catch after 11pm. I have seen 2 episodes that were shot in Charlote, NC (near me) so there were at least 2 poorly dressed souls here that got on...I think I might be eligible, but they'd need to hire Emme to consult for me, Stacy London size "nothing" isn't dressing me!!! Love that show.

Hey Bright! How was the shindig? Did you have fun? Take pics? Wear your sexy new outfit and knock 'em dead? Please give us the scoop!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
