I have a collar bone

Recommended Posts

Hi there thirties...I got a new haircut last night and when I got home, my boys wanted to take pictures. I couldn't believe that they were me. I actually looked "skinny". Tell me what you think...the first picture is my "before" picture (April 2007), the other two were last night. Sorry that they are a little blurry...my boys are 5 and 7...a little shaky taking pictures.

Hi:

You do have collar bones! You look great.

I found my collar bones too. I'm melting from the head down. First I noticed that some of my chins were gone, then I noticed that I had collar bones, then I noticed that my boobs seem bigger because there's not as much fat under them. I'm hoping that I can lose some of this belly. Seems to be the worst part for me, the lower belly. Plastic surgery here I come......next year.

Congratulations on your collar bones.

Sue

Back when I was in research mode, one of the things I saw consistently was very pronounced shoulder area features in all WLS patients. All that I saw pics of, anyway. This seems to be the first area we lose, but also where a huge difference is made. At this weight on my way up, my collar bones didn't protrude as much as they do now. I even have that little identation in my neck, and I was like 180 the last time I had that.

Gotta <heart> collarbones! They make us look skinny from the neck up!!

You look great!!!!! I am finally going to get my new do sometime this month. I like it and might have to take the picture to show my girl. Something simple is what I want and I really like it.

Thanks guys...I appreciate all the kind words. I've been slacking on my diet and exercise the last two weeks because I have been sick. I need to jump on that treadmill and get things back on track. I want to get to a 100 pound loss before my one year bandiversary. I know I can do it. I only have 13 pounds to go and I have two and a half months to do it. However...I would LOVE to get there by my sons birthday (3/18). Wish me luck!!! Good luck to all of you too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
